I was talking to my therapist about the rage against those who voted for Trump.
And he pointed out that there are those who felt they had no choice and now regret it but feel that if they say anything they'll get vilified by Trump supporters and by liberals.
I'm pretty sure the guy who is in there before me might be in that position, back during the primaries I heard him say (as left the building) "I don't know what I'll do if Rubio (I think it as Rubio) doesn't win." and he sounded distraught.
I was not ready to be reasonable at all. The only thing I could say was "if they'll admit they voted for a bigot ..." and that's the best I could do and the subject was changed.
I was not ready to be reasonable at all.
I don't think you have to be.
Yeah, boo-hoo.
I am also much more with rage and very little with forgiveness. Don't want to be vilified? Don't vote for a villain.
Always choose drill press!
I think our anniversary stuff is not all that random, although I believe the selection is broader as the years go up. ANother year or two before I get to choose anything.
We used to get random stuff from Shell as "safety gifts" - some kind of incentive program that when they passed a certain number of hours without an accident or incident or whatever we got whatever. I also have gold-plated flatware that my mom got as part of that and never opened and gave to me because she knew I would actually use it. It's my not-as-nice-as-my-wedding-set everyday flatware (for, like, scooping cat food out of a can, etc.). Once we got a tiny (like 3" screen) TV that you could plug into a cigarette lighter in the car. We actually used it to watch the Olympics when we were driving across the country to go to my Babushka's second wedding - we were driving and staying in campgrounds along the way and one morning it started pouring buckets and we just broke camp and shoved everything in the trunk and sat in the car watching the Olympics on the tiny screen until it let up enough to drive to McDonald's for the free breakfasts we'd won.
On a non political note, my five year work anniversary is coming up and I got an email to an award site. Most random shit ever. Do I want a fancy purse, a pin with my employer on it, or a drill press? Maybe an off brand tablet or a set of cutlery?!? Wtf. None of this is useful. Can I have money instead?
I've gone my 10-year version of this sitting in my inbox.

I hope 10 years means an EVEN BIGGER drill press.
The biggest drill press EVER.
I worked some place that did this ...it was 20 years ago and I got to pick out something for working there a year(I think you got something for hitting a year and then nothing else until 5 year) so I got a blanket with cats on it. It was a very 90s thing.
I really want to tell my boss to change that "less" to "fewer" but I can't figure out how to word it nicely.
At 10, they give you the drill bits with the press!
As a gov't employee, they don't start noting milestones until 25, and even then you get a pin, a certificate, and cake. Not even your own cake, there's one cake for all the milestone-having employees.
Sue knows. If you hang on to 25, DIAMOND BIT
