My heartfelt thanks to all participating in marches today. You bring me hope. I can't manage it.
I feel the same way. (Though I can't manage it emotionally. I have zero spoons right now.) All the pictures on FB are making me SO HAPPY (my favorite might be the sign that Glamcookie's son is carrying).
I'm streaming it live and crying and so happy Vittoria is in that crowd.

Seriously! I loved it! For those that didn't see it -
I Know Signs
I Have the Best Signs
They're Terrific
Everyone Agrees
Timelies all!
Gary went down to the march this morning, though he didn't stay for the actual march. I didn't go because crowds can freak me out, and it looks like this is going to be a humongous crowd.
On a sadder note, Larry Smith, a bookseller who dealt books at cons in the Midwest, Northeast and Southeast, died suddenly yesterday. I feel bad for his wife/partner, and I'll miss him.(Most of my SF, fantasy and horror books came from him.)
I'm sorry, Sheryl. Peace and comfort wishes for his loved ones.
The pictures from the marches are cheering my day considerably.
Best text from mr. flea at our march so far: "We found Stefan! [Dillo's BFF]. He's in a tree."
I'm apparently going to the women's march in Oakland, but I don't have a sign. Ah, well.
My faux SIL (aka brother's gf) is at the march in DC! She was originally just going to go with some other professors but the head of hte college found out and said if they'd take students it would be an official college thing and so they could use the new passenger van and gas would be covered!!
15 students and faculty from Brevard College in WNC are there! and one of my brother's swim teammates is there with his parents.
My cousin Jenny sent a tweet about the pink lighting on her flight from Chicago with a cool pic. It was picked up by a whole bunch of news services. She is flummoxed but delighted. She stayed at my mom's house with a small group he brought with her. She brought my mom (88) and my Aunt Nancy (90) pussy hats to wear in solidarity and they will be wearing them all day.
We've got our signs ready, and been listening to the NYTimes feed of the DC March all morning.
SF's march is up last, but I promise we'll carry it into the night.
