I'm supposed to be at work today, on the weekend/minimally staffed shift, but it's been snowing all night, and the roads haven't been cleared, because, naturally, it's early Saturday morning. It puts me at risk of losing my bonus for the month, but I am not driving in this. Stupidly, I don't have the proper contact numbers for the weekend, but I will take the disapproval. This is why I have PTO.
And my7 manager just called me back to point out the number of absences I have this month due to sickness and weather, and I told him I'm willing to risk the bonus. This is the first time in ten and a half years I've been in this position, I'll take the hit.
You would think that work from home options would be used more in areas with weather issues.
FB is hard for me today. I want to enjoy all the pictures from friends and news reports from the marches, but the other stuff is really upsetting. Like my cousin gushing over Melania bringing class and dignity back to the White House. My DH says I will still have to be in the same place at the same time with her in the future, but she just disgusts me.
My heartfelt thanks to all participating in marches today. You bring me hope. I can't manage it. The closest one requires more walking than I can manage with a back that is uncooperative today. I took drugs and will see if things improve.
If anyone wants to see news coverage of the march, C-SPAN seems like the place to be. The other news channels are showing Trump glowering through a service at the National Cathedral.
I wonder how many heads of state are revising their travel plans to keep from having to interact with Him. I don't imagine he'd take to the requirements of protocol very well.

I feel the same way. (Though I can't manage it emotionally. I have zero spoons right now.) All the pictures on FB are making me SO HAPPY (my favorite might be the sign that Glamcookie's son is carrying).
I'm streaming it live and crying and so happy Vittoria is in that crowd.

Seriously! I loved it! For those that didn't see it -
I Know Signs
I Have the Best Signs
They're Terrific
Everyone Agrees
Timelies all!
Gary went down to the march this morning, though he didn't stay for the actual march. I didn't go because crowds can freak me out, and it looks like this is going to be a humongous crowd.
On a sadder note, Larry Smith, a bookseller who dealt books at cons in the Midwest, Northeast and Southeast, died suddenly yesterday. I feel bad for his wife/partner, and I'll miss him.(Most of my SF, fantasy and horror books came from him.)
I'm sorry, Sheryl. Peace and comfort wishes for his loved ones.
The pictures from the marches are cheering my day considerably.
