Coding and Sleeping

Supposed to be doing my yearly review right now but my manager is drinking beers with most of the office at the moment. I wasn't planning on leaving for a good hour or so anyhow so I think I'll just do some other work.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yahoo Mail on my phone is sending me news notifications, which are all about politics. WTF. I want mail, not a crushing dose of reality.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I think I'm going to run out to the store and get ice cream. Among other things. Dog food, cat food, stuff to make chicken soup, bread, and ice cream.

It's tiny in the grand scheme of things, but I don't know how I'm going to get through 4 years of people referring to Melania with no last name and meaning Mrs. Trump. That's my sister's name, makes for a lot of double takes.

I don't remember how I got it to stop doing that, but aggravation does fuel determination.

In "Casper totally got the fandom gene" news, she is mainlining Yuri on Ice.

I need to do that!

I took today off work because I figured I'd need it, even though I usually work from home. I felt kind of guilty but there haven't been any emergencies yet, so hey. No regrets.

I'm taking the day to tackle the stack of library books and DVDs. And I'm drinking a lot of tea, and staying off FB and Twitter. It's nice.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

work was not bad. I got my posters printed for the march tomorrow (lady at FedEx seemed less than impressed).

I bought Mexican food for lunch and some consolation cupcakes.

I also got to leave work early, so now I guess I should assemble my signs.

I do have to vent here about 1 thing. some of you saw the post on fb.

so about 4, I get a text that says. "Hi, my name is ______. I meta woman last week at the Toyota dealer. I cannot find her card and cannot remember her name. She gave me your # and said you were going to the women's march in Denton tomorrow. May I join you?"

WHA?!?! I did have one friend ask me if she could give my info to another friend who was planning to attend, but that is not what this read like.

I went back and found my friend's PM and it is the same first name, but wrong last name, so I PM my friend and start asking questions. DId you mean this last name? You said this was a friend, but this lady says you met last week and she can't even remember your name.

So yep - my friend (someone I knew for 2 years, over a decade ago, but have been fb friends with for over 5 years) gave my info to her car salesperson who she just met last week, but "really hit it off with". She doesn't know this person AT ALL. good lord. Well at least it is just meeting her there, because I WAS NOT going to be giving a ride to her.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Gary and I both had today off(Gary works in downtown DC, so they decided to close the office for yesterday and today), so we went to see Hidden Figures. It was great.

We just got back from dinner with my MIL and her cousin, who is in town for the Women's March.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's really random, msbelle.

That's my sister's name, makes for a lot of double takes.

Eek, that would be odd.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I've spent most of the day trying to sleep off a migraine. I really can't let this be another 3+ day event like I've been having. I've got a march to attend, damnit!

I got my posters printed for the march tomorrow (lady at FedEx seemed less than impressed).

My FedEx folks were very positive. The guy who took the order and I had a nice chat about the poster designs and the guy who handled the pickup and payment said I was at least the third person this week to have similar items printed.
