Today would be a really bad day to get stuck in a Groundhog Day loop.
Hell, yah. I was checking Twitter for a bit, but I have to stop. Slept LATE, which was nice, took the dog for a walk, and caught up on The Good Place (WOW). Now I have to go find a notary public and make a TJs run. I don't really feel like getting caught up in the local protests today.
About which, they closed my building entirely today because of the expected protests -- if I were working today, I would be paid to have the day off.
I really don't want to rise from my cozy futon, but there is shit to be done.
Fuck Cancer. I just found out our real estate agent died earlier this month. He was such a nice guy and worked so hard to find us this home. When he got our Christmas card last Christmas and found out about ltc, he came right over with a gift. He lived in our neighborhood and used to beep every time he drove by. This sucks. I need to send a card to his wife.
I am watching the first episode of Frankie and Grace and Lily Tomlin is eating ice cream with Jameson. I can get behind that combo and am bummed I do not have ice cream in the fridge. Guess I'll just have to stick with the Jameson.
Supposed to be doing my yearly review right now but my manager is drinking beers with most of the office at the moment. I wasn't planning on leaving for a good hour or so anyhow so I think I'll just do some other work.

I think I'm going to run out to the store and get ice cream. Among other things. Dog food, cat food, stuff to make chicken soup, bread, and ice cream.
It's tiny in the grand scheme of things, but I don't know how I'm going to get through 4 years of people referring to Melania with no last name and meaning Mrs. Trump. That's my sister's name, makes for a lot of double takes.

I took today off work because I figured I'd need it, even though I usually work from home. I felt kind of guilty but there haven't been any emergencies yet, so hey. No regrets.
I'm taking the day to tackle the stack of library books and DVDs. And I'm drinking a lot of tea, and staying off FB and Twitter. It's nice.
work was not bad. I got my posters printed for the march tomorrow (lady at FedEx seemed less than impressed).
I bought Mexican food for lunch and some consolation cupcakes.
I also got to leave work early, so now I guess I should assemble my signs.
