I was able to help him up and he can walk a little, but not great. I gave him a Tramadol, because maybe it's pain that made his legs give out. I called Tim, and he's going to see if he can come home early.
Our vet is closed on Thursday, so we'd have to take him to the emergency vet. I guess we'll wait and see how he does after the Tramadol kicks in. He doesn't seem distressed at all. Just a little confused.
Poor Kato! It sucks when our bodies don't act as expected.
Poor Kato. Lots of doggie health~ma to him.
Okay, now Kato is walking more or less normally. He even went outside to pee and came back in, walking a little stiffly, but okay. I guess I just panicked, but when he couldn't walk or hold himself up, it was really scary.
Of course it was scary. I'm glad he's better. He was probably just stiff.
Poor Kato. Hope he's okay.
Poor old pup. Hope he's ok
Yeah, I think maybe it just hurt a lot, the way he toppled over, and he couldn't stand right away. Now that I think about it, the dalmatian jumped off the back porch stairs (when she forgot how to walk down stairs -- true story, and that is the reason we have a CLASSY AS SHIT U-Haul ramp from our back porch to the ground) and instead of landing on her feet, just sprawled and took the brunt of the landing on her chest. The result was that she couldn't walk very well for a while afterward, because it was a serious impact. That may be what happened to him. I hope.
But the way he toppled to the side was freaky as hell. Not at all like the way he gets wobbly and then goes down. It was like someone just pushed him over from the side and he was stiff like a statue and toppled.
Pets, man. They're trying to give me a heart attack.
