Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm sorry, shrift. It sucks that they don't recognize your awesomeness.

I'm sorry shrift, that sucks. Way to blow vacation afterglow. :(

My newish job, I feel like I'm doing a good job on the client-facing part, keeping them happy, but the internal part (which involves a lot of finance forecasting and figuring out if people are charging too many hours to the project or too few and why), I feel awful at.

Continuing ridiculous dating adventures: went on a date a week and a half ago. Messaged her the next morning I had a good time, here's my number text me if you want to go out again. Three days later she texted me to say sure, did I want to go out on (date another week and a half later)" I responded a couple hours later, sure...its now been four more days and no word. Ridiculous!

Coding and Sleeping

Ugh. That sucks, shrift.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

shrift, I'm sorry you have to deal with that. What a way to come back to work.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Ugh, shrift.

Ugh. And in terms of what's valued, that's...not your responsibility? That's on other people.

Well, sure, in LOGICAL land. Not that I'm bitter.

I say, lying through my teeth. I'm totally bitter. (Not only is this a large part of why my team was hit hard when MS had layoffs but it's also part of why they're switching to cheaper contractors at my current place of employment and why I'm out of a job by the end of the month, not that I'm panicking, I lie again.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Okay, next thing you're going to tell us is that someone brought puppies for the babies to play with and you all got to snuggle the puppies.

I'm just going to believe this is so, don't tell me any different.

I don't have to run faster than the bear, I just have to run faster than you.)

Always worth remembering.

Aw, shrift, I'm sorry.

And PMM. I wish you some kind of stability.

This month's department meeting was pretty unsatisfying. No, parts of it were good with us getting new tools but other parts were all "that thing that we said wouldn't be your responsibility? Totally will be. Your welcome" and "Let me completely bypass your question and talk about my only somewhat related concern for 10 minutes so you never get any answer at all". Bah.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So I realized what bugs me overall about my team member -- I don't feel like she appreciates the fact that I hired her (when I was made to create a position for her), so I wish she appreciated literally anything at any point. She's on every fun committee, is barely in the office 9-5 (she doesn't have enough work yet), blah blah blah. That one (legit!) email was just One More Thing.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I required pie. Fortunately, that requirement has been met.

Hooray pie!

I can see how that would rankle, Jesse.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Not like I've done any work myself aside from several meetings this morning. I just did a copy-and-paste task I really could have delegated, but figured I was better off doing that than doing nothing...
