brillig

Another vote in favor of professional management--I put my rent check in the drop box yesterday morning. The check was picked up and was cleared through my bank the same day. No more waiting to see when it clears!

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I love coming back to work after a long vacation to get a performance review about how my work isn't particularly valued and my projects aren't high profile enough, and do I maybe want to move to another team.

Ugh. And in terms of what's valued, that's...not your responsibility? That's on other people.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh god -- I keep thinking I'm rich and/or thrifty when it turns out my landlord (mother) hasn't deposited my rent check!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

That is greatly of the suck, shrift.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm sorry, shrift. It sucks that they don't recognize your awesomeness.

I'm sorry shrift, that sucks. Way to blow vacation afterglow. :(

My newish job, I feel like I'm doing a good job on the client-facing part, keeping them happy, but the internal part (which involves a lot of finance forecasting and figuring out if people are charging too many hours to the project or too few and why), I feel awful at.

Continuing ridiculous dating adventures: went on a date a week and a half ago. Messaged her the next morning I had a good time, here's my number text me if you want to go out again. Three days later she texted me to say sure, did I want to go out on (date another week and a half later)" I responded a couple hours later, sure...its now been four more days and no word. Ridiculous!

shrift, I'm sorry you have to deal with that. What a way to come back to work.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Ugh, shrift.

Ugh. And in terms of what's valued, that's...not your responsibility? That's on other people.

Well, sure, in LOGICAL land. Not that I'm bitter.

I say, lying through my teeth. I'm totally bitter. (Not only is this a large part of why my team was hit hard when MS had layoffs but it's also part of why they're switching to cheaper contractors at my current place of employment and why I'm out of a job by the end of the month, not that I'm panicking, I lie again.)
