I bake cookies like crazy. The Y and neighbors get 99% of it. Work sometimes.
Y'all, they had a team inservice tonight at the Y, so all the guards and instructors were there, some I haven't seen since I had surgery. I walked in and they were all "we were just talking about you!" They were going to get a get well soon card for me, but they had to go to the director to get permission to use my address and with holiday schedules and all, it took longer than they hoped and they got it the day I came back! And the guard on duty the day I came back went on and on about how impressed he was and it was a little embarrassing in a sweet way. And the guard tonight was timing my laps and was all "this is slow for you?" ..and wants a picture of the gallstone.
I adore them.
Aw, sarameg, that's so sweet!
HBONow just helpfully informed me that I could watch that documentary, but I don't think I want to cry that much tonight. Maybe later. Giving Emerald City a try. Intriguing so far.
Edited because what the he'll autocorrect?
I'll have to see what my options are to see that HBO doc. I just finished the first ep of Emerald City. Intriguing is the right word.
No rain or snow here but its cold enough they're setting fires along the el tracks to keep the joints from snapping the bolts. I was out the door at 5:30am to attempt to get a ticket to Obama's farewell address. We waited in line for 3 hours (indoors, thankfully) before we were told our section of the line had no chance so we went out for breakfast instead.
I love you and the Y, Sara.

It's great because it's so funny and great in many ways, in addition to being cry-making.
Yeah, I want to watch it, just not quite yet.
Glad you tried, aurelia, and really glad you were waiting indoors! Going out to breakfast sounds like a good choice at that point.

Boy, that sounds like something out of some dystopian book.

It certainly seems to have some pointed symbolism to it.
Shoveled the steps and sidewalk, and it took less time than my load of laundry. Which is good, because I am OVER IT. Man I hate shoveling.

Maybe we just have a head start on the rest of you.
It does keep the trains running. [link]
Timelies all!
Gary's mom was supposed to come over and watch Mr. S while I got groceries and such. She just called to cancel because she's worried about the condition of the secondary roads. Sigh...now I have to go grocery shopping with Mr. S, and I can't go to the comic book shop like I planned. Not to mention having no respite from Mr. S except when he sleeps. Ah, well...
