I panicked a little given how close my dad and cousin and good friend T are to the airport, but they are all fine. Yet another senseless act of gun violence. I'm so done.
Wow, that is weird. And terrible, but...that's like something that would happen in a movie for convoluted reasons.
We are at FLL so often between traveling ourselves and dropping off and picking up loved ones. Nothing in existing security systems would have prevented this so far as I can tell. No real way to guard against bat shit crazy combined with firepower.
I think people thought allowing guns in checked baggage would make things safe or at least was a compromise from not allowing guns on carry ons.
This proves that there is not a safe option except not allowing guns on planes at all and I don't see that happening.
But in the baggage claim area, you can also just walk in from outside, so it's only as safe as anywhere else.
In my airport, baggage claim is right by the doors to the street, it's where all the shuttles collect and drop off passengers.
Ok, so I tried to buy concert tickets on Ticketmaster, and as of 5:01 there are no tickets available (except premium tickets starting at $350). I am continuing to try, but for how long should I keep refreshing?
Yeah I guess that's true.
I get that people could want/need to have their guns in their checked bags for hunting trips or whatever. But I see no reason at all to allow ammunition.
