If every vampire who said he was at the crucifixion was actually there, it would have been like Woodstock.

Man, as the Trump era rapidly approaches, I'm nervous about a lot of things.

Will Trump blow up the economy with stupid moves on trade? Seems really plausible.

Will Trump trash environmental protections? Looks like definitely.

Will Trump and the R's balloon the deficit? That seems pretty definite too.

Will Trump and the R's make things painful for the poor? Seems likely.

Will Trump and the R's create total chaos in the private healthcare market with repeal and delay? Seems likely.

Will we end up in a ground war in Iran? Seems plausible.

Will we roll back financial regulations and let banks over leverage again? Seems definite.

What makes me even more nervous? The R's not even considering a supreme court nomination last year and what is happening in North Carolina. I feel like the current generation of R's don't believe that liberals (or even moderates) have a legitimate right to office. That makes me worry about democracy in the country.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Aw, I didn't get to see flurries.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Dana, is your house warming up? My house is old and under insulated, but it is holding in the high 60s. You have those high ceilings though.

Oh, yeah. It was 59 degrees because SOMEONE monkeyed with the thermostat, so the heating didn't come on this morning until I came downstairs and turned it on.

Ann, that's a ferret.

No snow on the ground in western Fairfax County this morning. And we're more likely than many parts of metro DC to get snow. Would type more, but I'm using my wrist to keep my assistant (Coco) from laying his head on my keyboard.

11 degrees outside. The sun is going like gangbusters. I took the hit for being late (far rarer than not going in at all, so I'm good for that) to have the car place double check my battery. They ran the test of battery, alternator, and starter, gave me a puzzled look and said, "It's all good, was there a problem?" "Just making sure," I said. And I drove in to work under bright sunny skies, on nearly dry roads, and feel good for the first time in a week.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Hooray, Connie!!!

Few things feel as good as when an illness begins to retreat. "Hey, breathing without effort! Long time no see, how ya been!"

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Yay, Connie! I love your little stories of your life.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

It's chilly here -- only 40 degrees. But because my house has very little insulation it's pretty chilly inside, too.

Today is the first regular day off (which I get from my compressed work schedule) where I don't have to think about when to go visit Dad. Sigh.

Instead I have a metric ton of paperwork to deal with. Plus bills for my own stuff. Argh.

At least I have two lovely bunches of flowers.
