Burrell, I've done fine in DC winters (which is usually just a few degrees warmer than Philadelphia) with a lined trench coat, as long as it stays out of record low territory. DC over the next few days is supposed to be cold (by DC standards -- highs in the low 30s F) but not record-breaking, and dry.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Two schools of thought on the coat: (a) You won't be outside much, if you're going airport-cab-hotel-cab-airport. (b) IT'S FREEZING!!!! And your work stuff will all be in the hotel?
I'd bring the warmest coat you have.
They are dinosaurs that are still alive, Jesse, you think they can't be academic?
I'd go barn coat, Burrell. Who's going to see you? And I would guess lush is probably likely on sidewalks given my limited exposure to urban cold-weather - can you get Yaktrax or the like? [link]

There's nothing on the ground here, and I'm guessing nothing in Philly, either.
Hmm, so warmest coat possible? Yipes, was worried about that. Should have tried to borrow a proper coat but I have been in a weird place lately and not good at reaching out to people.
That is a bird that will mess you up. And it might be because you have not cited your sources properly.
Do you have another layer, like a fleece cardigan, that you can wear under the trench? Layers are the key to cold weather.
WAIT. I just saw what the article was! This is not a smart bird. [link]
