We didn't have any trick or treaters. Some years we've had a couple, so I had a small bowl of candy. Oh well. Maybe I'll take it in to work. (No, I won't.)

Because we had tickets to an eternal-life-and-vampires themed theater performance. Aerialists! Very bendy people in red and/or sparkly clothes!
That sounds very cool.
Last year we only had two small groups of trick or treaters. This year, Kelly's bf C was very excited to hand out candy, so he had control of the door while I had Jack upstairs with me so he wouldn't frighten off the wee costumed neighbors. And this year we had a bunch of trick or treaters. I missed the adorableness, but C was very happy.
Tonight a group of friends are going to go to a Serenity party at Alamo Drafthouse. I remember seeing it with a bunch of Buffistas when it first came out.
Suzi, that sounds like a good night. C sounds like a good person.
Consuela... yeah... I got nothing. It sucks, that's all there is to it.
C is. He and Kelly are adorable together. They communicate very well together, which is HUGE for a young couple. He has started calling me Mom, which is both very strange and completely sweet.
Who took my motivation? It is gone, gone, gone this morning.
We had a bunch of TOTers but since we had to TOT ourselves, we missed a lot, too. Had many older teens this year - I'm cool with it, just surprised by how many. I swear, S loves handing out candy as much as he enjoys getting it!
So, it is possible to burn oatmeal in the microwave. Yay learning.
Phone call with my boss will not end, will not end, will not end...
Things I did not say to my boss, in this interminable phone call:
"Well, maybe we wouldn't be so far behind if my coworker hadn't spent months faffing around on her other project, instead of actually documenting stuff."
"So sorry that my potential carpal tunnel surgery is inconvenient for you. You could at least pretend to express sympathy, rather than hoping I won't need the surgery and won't need to take time off."
That sounds annoying, Dana, geez.
I am seriously lacking in motivation today. Which is possibly due to the fact that the urgent tasks I have are either "bug people for the 18th time to do something" or "work on my self-eval and also come up with examples for my bio so they can pimp me out to other projects". Ugh.
I have a quick question to see if I'm missing anything. Tim's 50th BD is this month, and because our house is so damn tiny, we are probably having the family party at his brother and SiL's house (though I have to confirm that, like, today, since his BD is the weekend before Thanksgiving).
Since it's Tim's BD, I still plan to order/bring all the food and drinks (just because BiL and SiL are letting us have the shindig at their house doesn't mean they should also have to provide the food).
So my question is this: in the list I'm about to post, am I forgetting anything?
BD cake (also other dessert because his family is HUGE and loves dessert); snacky food like chips/dip, cheese/crackers, a veggie tray; (lots of) beer/wine but also soda and bottled water and whatever the great-niecephews drink. And we'll just order a ton of pizzas (and salads in case anyone wants to boost their veggie intake).
Am I forgetting anything? Or (assuming adequate quantities for 20+ people) is that enough? Munchies, pizza, cake, alcohol. Is that good?
