And you're sure this isn't just some fanboy thing? 'Cause I've fought more than a couple pimply, overweight vamps that called themselves Lestat.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Sending you all the strength and ~ma you need to deal with all the things, Suela and hippocampus and all the rest of you in need whether you posted about it or not.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Consuela, all good vibes for your dad.

Hippocampus, I hope the day turns out better and your worrying is for naught.

Steph, that's so cool! I've wanted a fish pedicure for years! I'm coming to visit you. Later, when it's warm. (Right, it's the idea of fish gnawing on my toes that finally gets me to go see a friend. I'm an awesome person.)

2016, you wretched harbinger of doom, leave Carrie Fisher alone.

So my family may be melting down and Christmas may be cancelled. This is bananas and I am too tired to give a rat's fuzzy ticklish ass.

an hour and a half at the Holiday party and I am back home. These are friends of my parents and church people, so lots of me talking to older people that have known me for years. It was nice and one of my friends was there.

Seriously people can come to my place for future Christmases if needed. Weather is not usually an issue, I have a room, and doing things with someone else would be fun since no one else in my family seems to like the Holidays.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh dear, Zenkitty.

brillig

I highly recommend the broadcast of Shakespeare Live on PBS that's on right now. There's a British rapper doing an ode to the power of words using lines of Shakespeare.

edit: David Tennant using his full Scots accent is disconcerting.

But this line from the rapper makes me miss my skills as a transcriptionist: Four centuries past but I still cannot grasp the undiscovered country that makes words immortal

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Cancel the apocalypse, my nieces and their men are acting like adults and talking to each other without screaming and cursing. This may work out.

Further proof that I have slid into a parallel universe.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Always nice when the apocalypse gets pushed back.

Man, I didn't even know about Carrie Fisher.

I'm so sorry, Consuela. I hope your father's health will not cause you too much suffering.

I also am a terrible friend who wants to visit Steph just for the fish pedicure.

I had a lovely low-key day - stayed in my PJs well into the afternoon, napping occasionally and reading my book the rest of the time, then went to the quilt store (which is closing the end of the year, woes, I need to go shop there next week for the cute prints I will never find again) and Joann's and my local consignment shop's Xmas event with mom. Now melting some chocolate for the candy dreidels for tomorrow and watching Dark Matter.
