Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Cancel the apocalypse, my nieces and their men are acting like adults and talking to each other without screaming and cursing. This may work out.

Further proof that I have slid into a parallel universe.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Always nice when the apocalypse gets pushed back.

Man, I didn't even know about Carrie Fisher.

I'm so sorry, Consuela. I hope your father's health will not cause you too much suffering.

I also am a terrible friend who wants to visit Steph just for the fish pedicure.

I had a lovely low-key day - stayed in my PJs well into the afternoon, napping occasionally and reading my book the rest of the time, then went to the quilt store (which is closing the end of the year, woes, I need to go shop there next week for the cute prints I will never find again) and Joann's and my local consignment shop's Xmas event with mom. Now melting some chocolate for the candy dreidels for tomorrow and watching Dark Matter.

Consuela, my thoughts are with you.

I've wrapped everything that can. Internet gifts/donations tomorrow night.

And I've got the best worst Christmas cards ever. I shoulda put holiday in the text, but just flubbed that. Can cross it out as appropriate. Since it is a revolting/awesome card anyway. And the magnets and drinking glasses won't arrive until after Xmas... Gallstonemas.

Gallstonemas deserves to be celebrated.

Tomorrow will not be restful for me, alas. Sunday might. Looking forward to drinking cocoa in front of the Xmas tree while the kids open presents, and then coming the fuck home and not speaking to anyone for a week.

I adore all you motherfuckers so much -- PMM.

Consuela: Drop me a line at my profile address if you want/need a drive-by hugging.

Everybody else: Take good care of each other, ok? You are lovely people, and deserve the best of all things.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Thanks, everyone.

We'll see how things go; with luck the antibiotics will make a difference. Now if he can only stop falling quite so much...

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Baking-type people: I'm baking 2 pumpkin pies at once, which I've never done before. About how much time will I need to add for them to bake through? My recipe is the standard one where you bake them for 425 degrees for 15 minutes and then turn the temp down to 350 degrees for another 45 minutes. That's for 1 pie.

Maybe another 10 minutes on the end? (I know to test it with a toothpick, but I'm just trying to figure out how much time to allot in my schedule.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

No idea, sorry.

I am exhausted from today already. Good thing I made my mother decline the post-church dinner invitation we got. Today: Have made cake but not yet frosted. Made several additional trips to the attic. Need to wash my mother's floor and other misc cleaning, cut veg for crudite, shower, frost cake, welcome family and enjoy at 1, choir at 4, then church then sit.

For tomorrow, my mother had invited her minister over for dinner, so we roped him into being our chauffeur for the day/gave him the opportunity to see my father. So that will be church in the morning, then to dad, then home. Not terrible as far as go-go-go.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Am a genius, and only bought one veg that needed cutting. So that's done.
