That's the thrill of living in the Hellmouth! There's a veritable cornucopia of fiends and devils and ghouls to engage ... Pardon me for finding the glass half-full.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

where is everybody?

I went to the grocery store with my mom, got Chinese for dinner, and then went over to my sister's house, where I got piled on by my nieces and their dog (as you can see on FB). After that, I logged into my Stanford class to do some homework.

I was catching up with my sister on our ridiculous family. And nope, I will not be back in New England I guess! Though I'm voting this means he should find a job in Seattle.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I do not seem to have a natural talent for piping melted chocolate into recognizable shapes. Can't say I'm surprised.

Two candies completed, which was all I really needed to finish tonight. Whew.

Our wings are not tired.

Ouch, hippocampus. I hope you can get some more rest while the ouch subsides.

Wow, meara. That's a lot.

Yikes indeed! May things be much less dramatic today.

Aw, msbelle, that's a bummer.

I love the festive and stuff and neither of the boys were into it. It was a super joy to have my new daughter this year because she loves to decorate and did the tree and house with me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I scheduled a 90 minute planning meeting for this morning, and I have NO INTEREST in running it! At least I only have to run half, but ugh. I'm tired of being in charge. I guess that's a sign about what I should look for in my next position, huh?

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

-t, my mother would routinely put presents in "safe" places and then forget where ... and sometimes about the present itself. Which is why I sometimes received sweaters for my birthday (in May) and odd stuff in December. I think it's a family failing - I was in the closet and found a shawl and warm scarf I'd forgotten about and my grandmother once put her engagement ring in a "safe" place and never found it again.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I put my dad's Christmas gift someplace safe one year, and spent a goodly part of Christmas morning tearing my room apart trying to find it. I did, eventually.

meara - Dec 21, 2016 5:13:28 am PST #4230 of 30002

I tore up my house Monday night trying to find the gift card I had gotten for my sister and then put in a "safe" place. My roommate was like "you can probably call them up and find out if it's been used or get a new one" and I was like "no, I know it's either here SOMEWHERE or I managed to throw it out thinking it was junk mail because it was in an envelope!" Luckily I eventually found it.
