I like it. A Buffista decluttering tour! Woo hoo!

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I would very much like to visit people and declutter. So much better with other ppls stuff than my own.
on the whole I've had a not-terrible time going through Detroit.
Plus, Detroit has that trippy light-show tunnel.
I thought that was O'Hare. Does Detroit also have a trippy light-show tunnel? I kind of hope it does.
Detroit totally has a trippy light-show tunnel, complete with Tangerine Dream-esque music. (The entire time my brother lived in Vermont, the only flight from Cincinnati to Vermont went through Detroit. Believe me, I have experienced the trippy light-show tunnel many times. It's awesome.)
Of course there's video. I love it: [link]
The Detroit light-show tunnel is much trippier than the O'Hare light-show tunnel.
Even your talk about travel nightmares makes me want to go somewhere! I feel like it's been a long time since I've gone away for any reason.
K~ma, aurelia
That is awesome, amyth! Go you!
What the hell is wrong with their maintenance schedule?!
Oh, hey, I remember discussing that in B-school (over a decade ago, but maybe still relevant?). Airlines in general have aging fleets but scheduling regular maintenance would mean scheduling fewer flights so they just fix things when they go wrong instead making delays and canceled flights instead. It's not a cost-effective strategy but it makes future projections look better (because the full costs of the "emergency" maintenance is not really included (kinda like how the full costs of having an under educated populace are not included in school funding budgets, but I digress)).
I wish I could be okay with someone else decluttering for me, I'm sure that would be easier, but I could not handle it emotionally.
Ooh, now I want to check my airline rewards points. I think I might have some squirreled away...
It's not a cost-effective strategy but it makes future projections look better
I guess if they don't have to worry about losing customers due to lack of choice/competition, that does make sense. And by that I mean "business sense" and not actual sense.
