We can come by between classes. Usually I use that time to copy over my class notes with a system of different colored pens. But it's been pointed out to me that that's, you know...insane.

Just ate a mess of mixed rice, green beans and miso. And a tiny bit of chicken. Hopefully it won't try to kill me. I was actually something resembling hungry, but I only had oatmeal and a few triscuits today, which probably wasn't great.

Baked a couple batches of snickerdoodles (which I cannot sample) so at least the house smells good.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I made the first batch of chili of this fall! It's almost time to eat!

Oh! And I got a very sweet Thanksgiving day card from a Sekrit Buffista, so thank you, kind person!

Behave, sarameg's GB!

I am HOME. Chicago was lovely, my brother & SIL are super, I had great food and saw lots of great art (including HAMILTON), but getting home was an epic: the flight was 4 hours late because of mechanical difficulties, needing a new pilot, and then snow. And we spent most of those 4 hours on the fucking plane. ARGH.

So I read all of Queen of the Tearling and Crazy Rich Asians. Bit of a whiplash, there.

And I came home to learn the death count for the Oakland warehouse fire is now 33. Christ. My nieces already know they know people who lost someone.

I still want cheese. This is my lament.

I spent the weekend in Canada with friends at a fancy cabin, and it was awesome. I made tons of Chex mix (both sweet and savory) and we danced and drank and had a fire and a hot tub and played "I Never" and flip cup and beer pong and video games and watched a movie and ate a lot of food and danced and sang and it was awesome. I'm sure my liver and sleep couldn't handle it but I wish every weekend was like that!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

My boss does not have ovarian cancer!!! I am so happy. She does have severe endometriosis, and it was blocking her kindness, but she had a hysterectomy and other removing surgery! I was really really worried when she went in for a kidney and then had surgery on her ovaries!

Our wings are not tired.

My heart is breaking for the whole Oakland community. The more I see the worse it becomes, and they aren't finished yet.

Gallbladder behaving wishes, Mmmmmmm cheese.

Yay for awesome weekends and no cancer news!

I still have no water. I expect to hear from the plumber soon. It was like a camping out weekend. I have a water cooler that provided drinking water and a park across the street with a bathroom. Also buckets for middle of the night flushes. I didn't bother with going to the gym to shower. That will happen later here I hope.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good news, Sophia!

In terrible news, my godsister's daughter died this morning. What the fuck even is that? She was like 10 and had a brain aneurysm. I'm not close to them, but I kind of can't bear it.

Sophia, that is great news!

sarameg, I hope your gallbladder makes this as easy as possible for you.

My DH is scared to look at the Oakland news because he might recognize an old student of his from that Fruitvale neighborhood.

I am so angry/horrified/scared about the guy who went into one of the pizza joints we go to here in DC and fired a gun. [link]
