The water heater's in the attic, so I don't imagine I'd hear it from here. But we do have some kind of sensors that are supposed to detect a leak. Hmm.

Dana, two other possibilities: 1) some microwave ovens will beep every few minutes if the cook cycle is done but the door hasn't been opened, and 2) some refrigerators beep if a door isn't completely closed. Do you have new appliances in the new place?
HOME RUN woot woot!
I worked from home Monday. I took Tuesday off because I felt terrible, and slept most of the day. Today I declined a meeting in the AM and dragged myself into our San Francisco office, and I still feel kinda terrible.
On the bright side, I have chicken noodle soup, salad fixings, and adobo chicken in the refrigerator, so I don't have to cook again for... a while.
The thing that was beeping in my house is still beeping.
My mystery beep was the dying back-up battery for the security system.
My oil tank issue is water inbetween the two walls of my double-wallled tank. They're going to send someone by to pump it out before it freezes. There's a .5% chance it's an oil leak, but 99.5% more likely it's water from condensation build-up. Phew.
Okay, the sensors should just shut off the water if there's a leak, not make noise. Husband's theory is that maybe it's in the closet upstairs, where there are various...panels that...do things.
Congrats, David!
Gif. Jif is peanut butter.
This is my stance.
Not the microwave. The fridge is a possibility, but I'd have to work pretty hard to accidentally leave it ajar.
Hec, that's awesome! Provisional congrats!
-t, that's a whole lotta suckitude this morning. Disappearing glasses and no backup coffee? I'm glad you found the glasses, and hopefully there were filters and coffee to make another pot.
I hope the source of the beeping has been discovered, Dana.
shrift, I hope you feel better soon.
Good news, Sue! I also forgot to say hooray for your dad being home earlier.
edit: Gif. Hard G.
I am irrationally fond of being able to take my glasses off and have the world go all soft and fuzzy, but it does have its drawbacks.
The whole world is bokeh!
various...panels that...do things.
That's intriguing.
HOME RUN WOOOOOOO
I'm trying to fend off a bout of magical thinking. "Is this the way I walked Matilda to school for the other pitches?"
I am convinced that HRC lost because I didn't wear Madame President on my nails that night.

Me too.
My glasses slipped off the nightstand
Last night mine slipped off the bed while I was reading and I had to go downstairs to get another pair of glasses so I could find the first pair, which had landed in the trash can and were completely invisible to my naked eyes.
I have worked a couple hours every day of this vacation. As usual. Why did I expect otherwise? Today I talked my back-up through a QC process that everyone on the team should've been using for years. I asked her how did she do this on her own journals? She said, I don't :-). OMG. She doesn't QC her articles before they print. She is never backing me up again.
edited for misspelling, speaking of QC
