So there were sideshows all over Oakland last night, including about two blocks from me. Which included bonus gunfire. As a result the beast felt the need to sleep on the bed with me, and I didn't have the energy to fight her off. At least when she's worried like that she doesn't get all worked up, she just wants to be on me.

And apparently the police impounded more than 100 cars.
Timelies all!
Woke up a couple of times last night because Gary's electric razor started randomly buzzing. Now it's raining.
Making chili with the spices we had on hand, which meant jerk chicken seasoning, some smoked paprika, and red pepper.
Sounds like aliens.
Went up to Folsom for the Ren Faire yesterday. Good times, especially the falconry demonstration. Discovered while looking for parking that there is a Johnny Cash Trail through Folsom, which pleases me.
Today is dance practice and a scorpion hike.
I have fleas. My cats don't go outside anymore, but the fleas got their civilization into the carpets and whatnot back when they did, I guess. Now the cats are dosed with Advantage so the fleas bite me instead. I think I'm actually going to use a fogger.
Mmm, that sounds good, Dana.
Jesse, inside mosquitoes have been driving me crazy the last couple of days.
Thank god my Twitter feed is running ahead of my football stream, because I can spoil myself and not expire from stress. Fricking overtime.
Last night Ethan and I went to see Paul Simon's last concert at Corona Park, and I spent an hour and 45 minutes in line for a very mediocre "po boy" that by the time I got it was like manna from heaven because I was so fucking hungry. On the plus side, I did bond with the other people who were stuck in line, and because there was time while we were waiting for food to go back and forth to the wine/beer/cocktail vendor many MANY times, we all wound up making the best of it. At least we could still hear the music while we were waiting, and I did get to see the last half of the concert including the hour-long encore, which was terrific.
Wow, you have filled me with so many mixed emotions. Not least among them the heady combination of great admiration for packing so much into a short post leavened wishing for more details.
I'm so glad I took tomorrow off work. Good thinking, past me.
