Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I have the most boring diet--voluntarily. I dislike being challenged by my food.

I boiled some eggs, made egg salad, added tuna to half and now have several sandwich meals of each kind of salad. I used up the last of the elbow macaroni (already finished off the shells) and the last of the butter and the cottage cheese along with sharp cheddar and made several servings of mac&cheese. I've a freezer full of veg to add at opportune times, and fruit chunks for dessert. I filled the rice cooker and have several servings of rice ready to go, and made a pot of pinto beans. They can be had with mac&cheese and some kind of greens, or over rice with a bit of tabasco and black pepper.

I love clearing out the fridge and pantry and getting to start with fresh stuff.

brillig

I always eat the same stuff. I go to the store thinking "My meals are dull, let's get something else," then I never eat it because when I'm ready to eat I'm too tired to eat something unfamiliar. I'm thinking Spinster Chow might not be a bad concept. Based off mashed potatos.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

We went to a company thing of husband's that I was worried might be just bowling, which I'm not the biggest fan of, but turned out to have unlimited video game playing, so we spent like three hours doing that. That was pretty entertaining.

David MyLastName in St. Petersburg, FL, just bought him some vitamins at GNC and had the receipt sent to my email. Exciting day for both him and me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I did nothing all morning, went out to get a massage and also bought new bras, and now have a load of laundry in. Perfect.

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

This evening I went to a talk for what might be one of the best photography books ever published, and there were maybe six people there.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I joined some friends at a coffee house (which is nowadays more of a bar/restaurant) to watch the Carolina Courage (NC women's pro soccer) win the final game in what's apparently a very winning season. It was fun. I'm glad I went.

Calli I was at that game, in the front row with friends? It was cool because the thorns beat my rlyeam (the Reign) so we were rooting against them

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Went to the Maryland Ren Fest. The weather was nice, so it was a good day for it. After dinner, we went to a party held by friends of ours for a bit. Tired now.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Took me a second to figure out what the soccer team was doing under the table. (Seeking shelter from rain.)

I'm trying to think what photographers I'd turn out to see a lecture on...Diane Arbus, Sally Mann, William Eggleston, Ed van der Elsken, Anders Petersen, Christer Strömholm, Vivian Maier, Robert Frank, Nan Goldin, Peter Hujar, Avedon, Mapplethorpe, David Bailey...

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Out to our usual diner for breakfast. Then grocery shopping and home to study for my ELA (English Language Arts) test on Thursday. I also signed up for the Social Studies test the week after. Hopefully that makes me more employable. Tomorrow, I grade papers study, clean house and do laundry. Not exciting but productive. Last night we watched "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane," which I'd never seen all of. LOVED IT. We've made a plan to watch all good movies either of us have missed.
