Maria, how did it go yesterday?
Very well! Discussions will be continuing, but the response was really positive.
Healing~ma, Zen.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Woo! Will keep the ~ma heading out.
Happy healing, Zen. May thy bones stay put together the way the surgeon intended this time. Hope the kitties go into nurse mode and purr a lot.
I have one sitting on my feet right now AIFG.
Glad to hear it, Maria!
Yay random walk!
Hahaha I can hear someone in the warehouse singing that Friday song that was a Youtibe sensation back in the day. Day made.
Zen, I hope you heal up well!
Gud, you are a good egg, and we need more men like you in the world.
My nemesis is annoying me and I can't tell if I'm just being picky or if she actually did something wrong. Bleah.
Great. NYT is reporting that Rosenstein floated the idea of wearing a wire around Trump and possibly invoking the 25th. Any chance Trump waits until Monday to fire him, or can we measure the time in hours?
How has he managed to avoid getting fired until now? It's remarkable, in a way.
I hope a wire was worn and that we get to listen, soon. I know it is all falling apart and will be history before long, but this freak show has been pure torture. And we only know a portion of it.
I think hours, Dana. It's a Friday. I'm pretty positive this story was leaked by Trump allies to (a) distract from Dr. Blasey Ford's allegations against Kavanaugh, and (b) to give Trump an excuse to fire Rosenstein, now that it seems Cohen is cooperating with Mueller.
I hope Rachel Maddow wasn't counting on a light night.
Zen, here's to you getting all better, right quick.
I'm glad things went well, Maria.
Not every man is a predator, no, but there is nothing in place in our society that teaches them to be otherwise.
We (parents) are the main thing in place, and we're outnumbered.
Weirdly related, this summer my (young adult) kids started watching Law & Order: SVU. It never appealed to me, because I thought of it by the nickname Allyson gave it, "Law & Order: Crimes Against Vaginas."
I've watched it with them on occasion, and it does a solid job of covering issues of consent, victim shaming, and incorporating into the story the fact that false allegations are few and far between. They also talk about why survivors don't report, etc.
I still can't watch it all the time. It can overwhelm me, but I feel far more pleased at the way tell these stories than I expected to be. It's not a perfect show, but it gets a passing grade, imo.
And the idea that my daughter is hearing things like "Boys will be boys" and "It was all just in fun" is heartbreaking and infuriating.
Yup! I'm so glad my daughter is 19. I wish, in this respect, she was even ten years older. She's a pretty political young woman though, and a strong feminist. I'm glad she has that foundation.
All we can do is talk about these things with our kids (girls AND boys) and hope they get it.
Timelies all!
Tired. Alas, the weekend is no longer a time to rest, due to toddler-wrangling.
