Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

There's a good reason to be afraid of the jillifonts.

Is that the article about the jillifonts causing some sort of glitch in a broadcast system and causing creepy nursery rhymes to be played? I'd kind of like to read the article, but I need someone to let me know if there are photos of the jillifonts before I click the link.

Nilly! It is always so good to see posts from you.

Ouch.

I didn't follow this link (work computer didn't like it), but assuming it's the same one Zen linked on FB, no jillifont photos.

What is even happening?

There are no explicit or clear photos in the Boing Boing article, Atropa. There's a black and white screen cap from a security camera, and the white blob in the photo looks like a photo negative of a jillifont's partial shadow.

Ugh. ltc pushes a boy at school today from a raised surface to the ground. The boy wasn't hurt, but he was very scared. Poor boy is the sweetest thing and already doesn't want to be at school.

What was he wearing?

What did he say that caused her to push him?

Why did he endanger himself by going up on the raised surface?

Did he really get pushed, or did he want to fall?

Huh. It seems I am decidedly Team Girl today. The discussion of Kavanaugh's accuser has my blood boiling. I'm glad the little boy was not hurt, sj. And hey, toddlers do stuff like that.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

sj, those are the type of doorknob covers we've been using. He doesn't get them off, but he's figured out how to open the door in spite of them. The trouble with having a bright, curious and willful child....(He hasn't eaten any of my lipsticks, but he did ruin one by smearing it all over himself. He's also used one of my eyeliner pencils to draw on the sink.)

Wow, Sheryl. He's talented.

The kid was on the other side of the school yard playing with some rocks that ltc wanted. So she fled across the playground and pushed him off the platform he was on and onto the ground. I'm all for being team girl, but this was definitely ltc's fault.

The female of our species has been predisposed to gather since hunter-gatherer times. It's a natural reflex. Girls will be girls.

Meanwhile, this aberrant boy, ignoring nature's dictate, gathered rocks, taunted her with a come-hither look, then dangled himself on the edge of a platform, daring any red-blooded American girl to push him, should he not fall first. A nice boy would have known better.

ltc is being railroaded.

[Just kidding. I'm sorry for the aggravation. It's not the behavior you want. This too will pass. I hope it's quickly for your sake, and again, I'm glad the little boy is okay. My kids were always the ones who got hit etc at pre-school (my boys and my girls). It's nice to see parents who take it seriously, not that I would expect less from you.]

Woe to the fucking wicked.

So, I have 2 stories from the weekend. One I'll share over on the FB (it is more locked-down right?), but the other can go here.

A couple of years ago, I worked on a production of Spamalot, for which I made 3 versions of the killer rabbit. A friend of mine finally managed to have me, her car, and her memory in the same place, and she gave me a commemorative gift of a Disney bunny...with fangs. So, um, would Clovis like a Polynesian Outpost Division?

YES. YES, CLOVIS WOULD. Welcome to the Evil Bunny Alliance.

Excellent!

It was definitely one of those "some have the Evil Bunny Alliance thrust upon them" moments.
