Cordelia: I get it now. You're all spies. Probably all Russian. And you've brainwashed me, and want me to believe we're friends so I'll spill the beans about some nano-technology thingy that you want. Gunn: So I look Russian to you? Cordelia: Black Russian. Angel: That's a drink.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Per my director, the fire is "not small"

Oh, yeah, I think I've seen that on menus, Dana.

Because books.

I wish I'd been here on 9/11. I spent the day crying in front of the TV, and on the phone with my New Yorkers and my mom. But I didn't find you until after Sara was born, so spring 2004, I think.

And Jessica, I was really grateful it wasn't 9/11 weather today, too.

I didn't have lunch because I took Sara to urgent care and then went to get groceries, and now I want to eat All the Things.

I had Indian for lunch. The papadum was particularly delicious.

I've been reading the Natter thread from 9/11 on and off today, which has been a roller coaster ride of emotions. It seems so quaint and ridiculous now that news sites were overwhelmed with traffic.

I packed up the postcards I wrote for the ACLU and they're now in the mail.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I'm going to have a "salad" of fresh mozzarella, proscuttio, and fresh figs (with fancy olive oil and salt) for lunch. (A perk of being in the Hannibal fandom is people share recipes.) (The proscuttio is not people in my preparation.)

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Oooh. I have fresh mozzarella and prosciutto (also not people), but no figs. (In an amusing coincidence, my mom texted me from Trader Joe's about 20 minutes ago -- in all caps -- the following message: "AT TJS. FRESH FIGS YUM!!!" She really loves roasted figs.)

What is even happening?

I had a salad of Cheerios, milk, and sugar. Not grilled though.

Sophia, I'm really sorry to read about your cat.

Amy were you a Bronzer on 9/11? I found out from Narrator on the private board.

Is Sara okay?

Have I mentioned that I probably have to be in DC on election day for work? I don't think I can handle an election watch party with coworkers.

Oh, that sounds fraught.

Punishingly Intricate

If you wanted to come up to Baltimore election evening, we usually have an election night viewing at the bar at Atomic Books, Shrift. We could put you up for the night.
