Congrats, Stephanie!
DCistas, has the weather been worse than usual the last few weeks, or am I just getting outside less? The humidity feels unbearable, and I'm literally dripping in sweat from even a short walk. On the other hand, I'm still using a cane while recovering from back surgery, so a "short walk" takes more time and effort than it did last year.
I've been in dc for the weekend and I can confirm it's been super disgustingly humid. I don't know how that compares to usual though, I've lost any tolerance for humidity over 60 degrees, since moving to the PNW
msbelle, for me, temperature changes trigger a hot flash (hi, Cindy!), but I don't find myself colder than usual. I'm sort of on the other side of it, though, and the hot flashes are all I have left to deal with. When they come on, they are a killer, though.
Stephanie, it's good to see you here! Sometimes it feels like yesterday you were sitting the bar exam and nursing your oldest at the same time! You do amazing work, and we're all incredibly proud of you.
So, a text from my mother, and I realize why I'm so sad about Mike Capuano -- it feels like the end of my father's era. And now I've been weepy all afternoon, and I have to snap out of it, so no sympathy, please! I can't take it.
Bad day. It's making it hard to concentrate. I hope this thing I'm working on doesn't need too much fixing.
Huh, appears to have worked first time. At least I'm making progress.
Hot flashes are the worst! I've been having them for 3 years and would like them to stop now. They are less frequent now, I've gone from 10-15 a day to only 5 or so now, but they still suck. I used to be cold all the time then I had half my thyroid removed and started taking synthroid and the constant cold is all gone. Bodies are weird.
Alex Jones just got in Marco Rubio's face, and Rubio swatted him down (metaphorically). I can't believe I'm rooting for Rubio, however briefly. What the hell, 2018.
In other What the Hell 2018 (or at least Can You Get Any Weirder 2018?) news, Vanilla Ice was on that Emirates plane from Dubai with the 100 sick passengers. [Insert your joke here]
He was tweeting from the scene.

So I just landed in New York coming back from Dubai and now I'm stuck on the runway with like 1000 police, ambulances, fire trucks, this is crazy. >[link]

This is crazy. Apparently there is over 100 people sick on the bottom floor, so happy I'm up top, it's a double-decker plane 380
Had a BAAAD day at school today. I have five 7th grade English classes and three are perfect, one is a little too rowdy and one is HELL. Usually, you have two or three talkers and attitude kiddos per class, and those are easy to deal with. This class has about 8 (out of 30). I literally could not get them to all be quiet at once. I simply cannot control this group of 12-year-olds. I can get them to do work, but I cannot get them to be silent. The head of the department (who works down the hall) came down to tell us the room was too noisy, and came in as they were all making noise. She's the one i want to hire me on as soon as I pass my tests, so now I'm convinced I've blown my chance. The behavior consultant is coming by tomorrow and I hope he has some help for me. I am exhausted and sad.
