We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Connie, thank you for the tip! I am now spending day one of my 4-day weekend watching the Bake Off.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Ugh, Mr. S was at it again last night. He didn't fall asleep until midnight, resulting in frustrated and tired parents. (Gary ended up taking just about all of his toys out of his room, because he was playing with them instead of going to sleep.)

It's a Labor Day miracle! All the diet Coke in the pop machine has been refilled!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I just started streaming the funeral. I haven't figured out where in the schedule they are.

The webcam in the French Quarter is more interesting viewing than usual. Bears on the Bayou Southern Decadence is having a big weekend, and there's one of those "Christian" groups standing at a Bourbon Stree intersection silently holding signs saying, essentially "Because we love you, we're telling you you're going to hell." The crowd wanders past, stares, takes pictures, points and laughs, and occasionally bends over and asks to be spanked in front of the group. A cop wandered up, watched for a while, then made some people get out of the way of a car trying to get through.

I love webcams.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I have a financial assessment at work tomorrow. I spent 5 hours wrestling with a $9.02 discrepancy. I wish alcohol weren't so carby.

The financial assessor fixed it in less than five minutes (spoiler alert: it only existed because I was doing wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much arithmetic), taught me how to bipass all the rigamarole I wrangled yesterday, left me to work on catching up, and about an hour later I got caught up on another $9 discrepancy. The financial assessment was the easy part of the day.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Atropa, I hadn't thought about that but yeah, you're right. Hey, maybe I could get a tattoo without passing out.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I tried to make a clafoutis for breakfast, and it totally didn't work. I don't know what the hell was wrong with the recipe, but it took way longer to cook, and 100% stuck to the pan. It still tastes good, but oy. But you know on GBBO, in the technical round, when things are a mess, and the one good thing they can say is the flavor is OK? That's because they used all the ingredients, so what else would it taste like! This is like that.
