Speaking as someone else with a ridiculously high pain tolerance: it's not always helpful, is it? Sure, it makes getting tattoos super easy, but telling if something is actually wrong and should maybe be concerned about? Not so much.

Also, reflections on the Aretha services, it could be that my white Catholic upbringing is the reason I didn't embrace religion. Anytime I either attend or watch a ceremony with black gospel singers I envy that passion.

Ugh, Mr. S was at it again last night. He didn't fall asleep until midnight, resulting in frustrated and tired parents. (Gary ended up taking just about all of his toys out of his room, because he was playing with them instead of going to sleep.)
