Making Australia great again.
It's really quite bizarre. The Liberal conservatives (so to speak) have become utterly fixated on this notion that Australia needs to build more coal-fired power stations. The reason this baffles me is because the power companies themselves are telling them "no, we're not building more, in fact we're looking to retire our coal plants, they're not economically viable in the long term, plus it's the vibe." The power companies themselves were some of the biggest backers of the energy policy that Abbott etc crapped over - emissions targets and all - because it would give them certainty going forward.
So you have this bizarre spectacle of our pro-business/free markets party* alternately begging and threatening these companies to stop making commercial decisions and just burn this giant mountain of coal already, dammit. I'm honestly not sure what their motivation is anymore.
- : Of course, both parties are pretty much signed on to being pro free markets and all. But one of them is more than pragmatic about it, plus, they get to demonise unions and that's always fun.
Hugs, Laura. I hope this all works out well and quickly.
Best to you and yours, Laura. Continued healing vibes to dad of Sue. And much love to Karl.
Today my kid says, "oh, story of my life!" At the time she was fondly gazing at some fancy raspberry tart while we sat by the lake here in Geneva. I want her life!
Laura, I'm sorry. I hope things work out okay.
{{{Karl}}}
Sue, wishing the best to your dad that he continues to improve.

I love this! Even though raspberries are nasty.
You know how you get to the end of a meeting, and someone says "Does anyone have anything else they want to discuss?" and everyone hopes that no one will say anything so you can just end the meeting? My coworker is that person who always has something to discuss.
Aw, kiddo. Good story.
Dammit, coworker of Dana! Read the room.
Ugh, Dana. Your meetings always sound torturous.
I'm attempting an edx course again. Let's see if with ltc in school for more time this year if I actually have enough energy and quiet time to finish it.
Sparky, Geneva Switzerland?? Jealous.
I have a bunch of stuff I should do today. To prepare for my party tomorrow and trip on Thursday. But mostly I want to veg.
Didn't Australia once have a prime minister get eaten by a shark? I vaguely remember hearing that years ago ... or he went in swimming and didn't come out?

Man, impeachment is rough in Australia.
