Woo, Scrappy!
That is hilarious, flea.
I meant to stuff other than read and nap today, but I didn't. In my defense, I was out late last night - after dance practice I met my parents at the tail end of a land trust astronomy thing (the only part of the program I got to experience was the music, but that was nice) and they took me out to dinner after. All very pleasant, but not the schedule I am used to. And, heck, been tired all week for whatever reason.
Tomorrow is the Tomato Festival, though so I have to be awak and leave the house for that.
Deleted because this a particularly unfun gross period. Good lord, I'd hoped I'd left this in my early 30s. UTERUS! NOT GONNA USE YOU. STAY BORING.
Got my lease renewal information. Rise of $15 a month in rent, which is nothing. Plus proof of having $100,000 liability insurance, which I already have with my car insurance. But part of me feels guilty for being able to look at these things and shrug.
My mother makes me crazy. She has people coming today to take away her dining table, because she's getting a new one. She's also getting a new sofa bed, but somehow doesn't want them to take her old one, because you can put it out with the trash for free. But how the fuck does she think she's going to get it outside? The two of us cannot take a sofa bed down the stairs. Ditto this huge old air conditioner that's been in my apartment for a year, but which I can't lift.
This is like when she had all the walls of my apartment re-done -- except the bathroom. She tries to save $5 in really stupid ways.
Oh, thank goodness -- I got her to come around to my side! Phew.
I just have to get 20 more rides today and tomorrow to qualify for a $100 bonus. That seems like a lot, but it is definitely doable.
I kinda don't want too many long rides because that's a lot more time driving. Sigh.
Good luck, Theo!
So getting the sofa out of the apartment is a disaster. They put holes in the wall of the front staircase, and are now trying to throw it off the back porch. It is a mystery how it got into the house.
Time travel.
Good luck, Theo! I wish you many short drives.
Eeeek, Jesse! I've had a 100-lb CRT TV on the floor of my living room for at least 2 years now because a) it's 100lbs and b) I can't just put in the garbage, it has to be taken to a place that recycles TV and computers, which will require a car, a friend to help lift it, and both those things available when the recycling depot is open.
Good luck Theo!
I'm requesting surgery-ma for my dad, who's having his gall bladder removed this afternoon. They tried to avoid surgery because of his age and health, but he's been in so much pain all week. His 94 year old sister passed away yesterday, so he's really having a terrible summer of loss and bad health. I really hope this goes smoothly, and he recovers well and quickly.
