All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Review was good. The biggest criticism was that I rely on email too much instead of making phone calls. Forgive me for liking a paper trail.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

This morning there was a spill from an oil tanker trunk which shut down most of downtown for several hours. About an hour after the cleanup had wrapped up there, a massive retaining wall collapsed in almost the exact same spot, so Main St is shut down again at least through tomorrow's morning commute.

Either someone is trying to open a hellmouth, or we are under attack by a supervillain who seems oddly fixated on making it difficult for people in Ossining to get to the train station. Please send Superman and/or Buffy.

Hopefully the insane storm that came through here peters out before it reaches you.... Was really surprised to hear one street in my hood got enough flow to stall out cars. It's just downhill! And no one remembers that happening before.

Headache receding; thinking it was more likely sinus from pressure change than related to the eyeball migraine. Which I guess is good? While the vision disruption is uncomfortable, unsettling & disruptive, it's not painful. Well, no more than mild eyestrain (which I suspect is actual eye strain-muscles trying to counteract the lies my brain is concocting.) & it leaves me feeling off & fragile, probably because the visual disconnect- I got the same lizard brain reaction being in total (cave) darkness for more than 30 seconds.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Work: Can someone please remind me why we are against naps?

Laura - Aug 14, 2018 2:57:26 am PDT #28332 of 30002
Our wings are not tired.

I am pro naps. One of my co-workers used to do the 5 minute nap thing at his desk and it was brilliantly effective. It takes me way longer than 5 min to get to sleep so I don't think it would work for me. When driving long distances I have been known to do a 5-10 min rest stop which the eyes appreciate.

It rained all night and is raining now. This makes me want to nap, but that isn't going to happen.

hip deep in pie

My dad was readmitted to the hospital last night with gall bladder woes. They're going to watch him for a few days before they make any decisions. Him being 90 and all his other health conditions make the doc reluctant to operate. Health-ma would be appreciated.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I keep reading about your rain. While I understand intellectually the phenomenon of rain in the summer, and even monsoons, I find it difficult to vision and grasp it. I'm weather-imaginative challenged this way.

Edit: Sue, so much health~ma.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

OH MY GOD we've finished our usual business in the 7AM meeting and my boss is trying to find other stuff for us to do to fill the time.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Dana -- I recommend breakfast.

Our wings are not tired.

I hope they find a non-invasive way to help comfort him, Sue.
