But Dad is gobbling it all down, even the veggies.

Apparently Thanksgiving is when I get sucked into marathons of TV shows I've never heard of before. Last year I watched hours and hours of "Naked and Afraid", this year it was hours of "OutDaughtered" (a TLC show about parents with a 5 year old daughter and all female quintuplets).
I am still killing time before enchiladas, but gave in to eating various bits of my more-traditional food I made (not to take to the enchilada friends) and now I suspect I will not be able to eat much, even though I didn't gorge, the timing was too late. Oh well. (Mmm, pie was so yum)
I was taking a shower to prep for going over to our neighbors for dinner and then suddenly got sick to my stomach. I managed not to actually vomit, but only just. I have sent husband off on his own, as I think the smell of food will not be welcome. So I'm noodling on the internet and not eating. I have had better holidays, I tell you whut.
Feel better soon, Scrappy.
Aw, I hope you feel better soon.
Oh no, Scrappy! What a bummer for you.
I am home after a delightful day with the regular extended family crew (plus one friend of someone's). One of the people I assume is a Republican, after I threw out my Jane the Virgin gambit, said, "I love Samantha Bee!" So OK then! We had a quiet chat about that for a bit, which was pretty fun, but otherwise, no political talk that I heard. Apples to Apples got a little dicey here and there, but again, people just let stuff go (even those of us who are definitely on the same page).
We just got home from spending the day with Dad, his ladylove, her daughter, and the daughter's son, wife, and two year old son. It was a nice, relaxed time. With very friendly dogs, including an adorable German Shepherd puppy who thought my fluffy skirts were the best thing ever.
My family behaved and there was no talk of politics except at the very beginning, when one super awkward, super loud cousin made a comment about the Democratic primaries with a big grin on his face, like he was daring one of the Republican family members to start something. Amazingly, the ENTIRE family ignored him pointedly, and even more amazingly, he got the hint and didn't pursue it.
I am so full it's ridiculous, and yet I'm thinking about leftovers, because my brother made cornbread stuffing that was totally gluten-free and the best damn stuffing I've ever had. I wanted more of that instead of dessert.
I also snagged a leftover turkey leg, after eating the other leg at dinner. I have no idea why my family doesn't like dark meat. I love the legs.
My husband is currently packing to camp this weekend, because he's insane.
I went over to my BFF's house for mellow Thanksgiving evening hang, because she and her husband stayed in town, no family gathering.
We ended up smoking a joint and watching...the 2012 and 2013 American Kennel Club dog show reruns, as her husband took a ham nap. It was completely random, and amazingly fun. I'm tucked up in bed now with decaf tea and a biography.
Nice holiday all around.
Hope everyone's is/has been lovely, and that Israel Buffistas are OK.
I also snagged a leftover drumstick, with the argument that I didn't have one at the Ren Faire so it was my due. Mom took all the leftover stuffing (there was not much) and Dad claimed the turkey bones for soup, everything else we divided up equitably.
Watched some of the football and some basketball while we heated things up, and more than I would have expected of, um, some guy talking about Wikipedia? I wasn't really paying attention. And then Mom and I watched Miss Marple while Dad and Walter napped in between dinner and pie.
Good day. Am home now, cats and rabbit fed extra feasty dinners, leftovers in the fridge, and no plans to leave the house tomorrow. Ahhh
