Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

We're about to head out for what has become our traditional restaurant Thanksgiving, since it's such a nice relaxing way to handle the holiday when there's just three of you. The place we're going this year (Salty's on Alki, for the Seattle-istas) has a ginormous buffet with everything you'd want for the holiday and then some. No cooking, no leftovers to deal with, and no clean-up!

I was originally hoping to start the day with a Turkey Trot 5K, but I don't have the right running gear for cold soaking rain, and I've been fighting a cold anyway, so I gave it a pass.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Do we know that our Israeli Buffistas are ok? I'm just now hearing about the fire in Isreal.

Thrive to spite them

Mom and I fixed things to take to my brother's and have some things made or to be made tomorrow for ourselves...because of food differenceservice and sloshing cravings we were gaving.

It was good. This weekend will be long but I can make it.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

when they brought the teeny gravy boat out, I looked at it and told the waitress, "We're gonna need a bigger boat."

Points! Excellent.

As usual, Thanksgiving dinner is at my sister's big house, so I didn't have to clean mine, yay. The family is sitting around wearing 'skins caps and watching The Game. I'm working and randomly yelling encouraging things over my shoulder. My family used to not care about sports at all, then my sister and my niece took up with sports-loving men, and now... It almost feels like we're normal. Except for Kim's Iron Maiden(tm) Ugly Holiday Sweater.

I'm waiting for the sweet potato casserole to burn, as it does every year.

I just read about the Israel fires. That's very scary. I know some people in Haifa, I hope they and our Israeli Buffistas are all right. And everyone else. No deaths reported yet that I saw.

Shir was tweeting earlier today. It's in Hebrew though and google translate is not being helpful.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

We 5k'd, and that went well. We had to park in the second overflow lot and the shuttle apparently stopped running before we were ready to leave so we tacked another maybe mile of walking on. I'll be sore tomorrow.

Turkey and stuffing are almost done, Brussels sprouts, root veggies, and sweet potatoes ready to go into the oven. We let Whole Foods do the actual cooking, just heating up.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I cooked everything and everything tasted yum. mac would not eat with us, so, there's that.

Regardless, I am having a lovely day with the parents. Their dog and my dog basically ignore each other, so it is a chill and quiet day. nice.

But Dad is gobbling it all down, even the veggies.
