Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Dear Coworker Who Is Now Under My Supervision:

Don't come to me with a concern saying, "I don't want to upset anyone, but..." then procede to refuse to listen to my explanation of why the rest of the team is doing the thing the way they are because you have not experienced that problem. Bringing up your concern was not upsetting, your refusal to listen was.

With all due respect, Me

The comments are the best part.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Holy cow, that is comedy GOLD. ("The angel on top of my tree just hired a lawyer.")

"It called Mary a nasty woman."

Happy Thanksgiving to them that do that! Turkey in the roaster, watching the parade. Should think about cleaning up the house before peoples get here.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Happy Thanksgiving to the Americans and all who celebrate this complicated holiday.

Last night I binged on Pitch (nearly caught up!) and made my mini apple pies. Still sick. Now to walk the dogs and listen to World War Z, then start the stuffing and lounge about a bit before going to fetch Dad.

Gonna be a quiet day, although I'm considering trying to catch a late show of Moana. And tomorrow night I go see Vienna Teng! Woot!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Today I'm getting together with the parents for lunch (ordering takeout from Dixie Cafe rather than cooking), and then late afternoon going to the extended family Thanksgiving/Christmas. For the latter my spinach dip is a go.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We're doing our usual Thanksgiving with Gary's mom.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Wasn't everybody shorter back then? I still don't know if it means they towered over people or not.

Charlemagne was like 6'10", I think? I read a really interesting article about the the development of cities and how once they reached a certain (pretty small) size, average heights across Europe cratered in a couple of generations. Nutrition and pests/ disease, essentially.
