Timelies all!
We're doing our usual Thanksgiving with Gary's mom.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Wasn't everybody shorter back then? I still don't know if it means they towered over people or not.
Charlemagne was like 6'10", I think? I read a really interesting article about the the development of cities and how once they reached a certain (pretty small) size, average heights across Europe cratered in a couple of generations. Nutrition and pests/ disease, essentially.
I hung out with two friends last night and had a great time. But we demolished three bottles of wine and like 8 oz of rum. And I am hurting this morning.
Hallelujah, the splint is off. I scratched all the places that were itching, cleaned off most of the betadine, and put the ace bandage back on to remind me not to do stupid stuff with that hand.
But we demolished three bottles of wine and like 8 oz of rum.
Wooah. I'm impressed.
Dogs are walked, kitchen cleaned. The chicken will take only an hour to roast, so I'm in no rush right now. I'll go fetch Dad in about an hour.
Hey, didja all know that there's a new Anne of Green Gables airing tonight on PBS? It's got Martin Sheen as Matthew Cuthbert. Nothing can compare to Megan Followes and Colleen Dewhurst, but I'll give it a shot.
Also, the new Gilmore Girls drops today, I think. Gonna have a lot of tv to watch this weekend...
CJ just looked over my shoulder, saw I was on here and said "Happy Thanksgiving Buffista-crew".
We are watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, jalepeno poppers and deviled eggs are out for nibbles and the turkey is in the oven.
I have hash browns. And coffee with whipped cream in it.
Later there will be other foods.
To be fair the drinking was from about 630pm to 230am. No idea how it got that late.
Nothing can compare to Megan Followes and Colleen Dewhurst
And Richard Farnsworth. Martin Sheen has some big shoes to fill.
We've been asked to the neighbors' with other friends: no children, no pets, no republicans. There will be wine. I anticipate hilarity and possible profundity. I'm in retreat, at the moment, from more general company.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who observe it! Happy Thursday, elsewise.
It's got Martin Sheen as Matthew Cuthbert
I read this as Martin Short.
Being able to scratch skin post surgery/cast/splint is one of the most satisfying things ever.
We had Thanksgiving lunch at a restaurant. It was family style, but when they brought the teeny gravy boat out, I looked at it and told the waitress, "We're gonna need a bigger boat."
They happily brought out more potatoes and gravy, but I think the reference flew past.
