"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I'm so tired that I accidentally turned on the coffee machine last night while I was prepping it for this morning. I'm going to spend a lot of quality time sleeping this weekend.

Things are going more smoothly on giant project eating my life, so yay?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Settling in very well. We love it here!

Had my mom drop me at the airport two and a half hours early because I was so done.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I hope it's a pleasant airport to be waiting around in, meara.

I hope you get plenty of rest and your life back soon, shrift

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Something nice - I live in one of the few buildings that allows pets; since I don't have a pet of my own, I make friends with my neighbors' dogs. With a few exceptions, it's lovely - they appreciate a little extra affection and I get my puppy love. One, who lives down the hall from me, is an elderly French Bulldog. when she sees me at a time when she crosses paths with me, she'll stop, sit down and refuse to move until she's received an acceptable level of petting and ear rubs. This morning was one such time - her person was getting out of the elevator as I was leaving my apartment and the dog sat and WAS NOT MOVING until she received her morning homage. So I rubbed her ears, scritched her head and told her she was a good dog. When she'd had enough (or at least enough for the moment), she agreed to get up and walk into her home. And I toddled off to work.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I would like to direct people's attention to the Economist this week: [link] Their lead story (in Europe and other parts non-American) concerns the turmoil in the British government, as two Brexit hardliners resigned from their cabinet post.

The delusional qualities of the pro-Brexiteers is a story all on its own, of course; but I'm more interested in the cartoon illustration to go with the article. It shows the PM bailing out a paddleboat in choppy seas (with the Trump baby balloon flying the skies behind her). They've named the boat "Brexity McBrexitface".

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

My folks are coming in for the weekend. Tomorrow is Mr. S's birthday(He'll be 3!!) His party is on Sunday. Not much relaxation going on here.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Happy 3rd birthday to Mr. S! I hope he has a wonderful time!

Our wings are not tired.

They've named the boat "Brexity McBrexitface".

Much more amusing that the Brexit situation!
