I look more rad than Lutheranism

Connie, we went to the Vikings exhibit at the Museum Center today, and it totally made me think of you. Their motto was "The horns are fake. The beards are real."

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

It's a Thanksgiving miracle!

Seriously, this story is making my day.

Hah. The quote I like is from a Hagar the Horrible book "Sword for show, axe for dough." Also "Never loot anything that has to be walked, fed, or watered."

Thanks to current media's depiction of Vikings, I was SUPER surprised to learn the average height of a male Viking was 5'7" (and 5'3" for women).

My husband is 1 inch taller than a Viking.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Vikings looked really tall next to Celts, though, right?

That roulade sounds fantastic! Please remind me it exists when I need to make something for next year's T-day pot luck, it would be perfect.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

5'3" for women

I'm Viking-sized! Suddenly my Halloween costume (#3 for those of you that followed along on FB) is that much more authentic!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And it was pretty easy and quick! Cleaning up the powdered sugar was maybe the hardest part.

I was skeptical when I read "buttercream" but mascarpone with sugar and cream and ginger sounds delicious.

I actually used cream cheese because I am cheap and love cream cheese.

Wasn't everybody shorter back then? I still don't know if it means they towered over people or not.
