I can relate. (ETA I meant to the DIYitis, but also to wanting to live on a boat...)
Aw, the cows that are in the wetlands between our loading docks and the railroad tracks that I thought were just random cows are actually owned by a sister company (why they have cows I'm not sure, it's the vineyard and Commercial Stove arm. And I guess the Smart Cooking arm) and they are having babies. Our location gets to name the first one - a bull. Ferdinand seems to be the early favorite.
Laura, I hope you took pictures during ... it would be interesting to see how he got from "before" to "after".

I can think of culinary links.
AFAIK no part of the conglomerate produces foodstuffs except wine. They may be part of our weed abatement/fire safety measures, I suppose.
-t, I'm not sure about cows but there's been a number of news articles about using goats for weed control. They'll eat invasive and overgrown plants with minimal environmental damage. I did a story - years ago - about a road project near an endangered species (turtle, I think, but possibly a frog ... and maybe butterflies) habitat so they used goats to keep the weeds and grass under control without annoying the residents. Kids at a local school got to name the goats.

Yes he has. After she sees it he'll post them and I can put them up too. There may even be pictures of me water skiing. In Otter Lake, not here. Don't plan on water skiing with alligators.
Yeah, Toddson, there are outfits around here that have goats available for rent for clearing plants. Cows are not quite as willing to eat all the plants, but maybe they do enough for firebreak purposes? The cows have been out there for forever, I just didn't know whose they were.
Have Goat, Will Travel ....
Timelies all!
Happy Birthday sj!
It's been the three Hs(hot, humid and horrible) here. Now we're having a thunderstorm. (Will it cool things off? Not counting on it)
The whole Thailand cave story is so captivating. I really hope a brilliant engineering mind comes up with a solution soon.
