Beverly, customer camr in asking about donating books. We're not accepting donations at this time because too many of the shelvers are headed on vacation. I try to explain this to him in several different ways, but he won't leave and won't stop explaining to me that he has to donate them today. Finally I just tell him to leave them because I want him to go. I tell him to leave them in the hallway outside the store. He says he should bring them into the store. I said no and reiterated that donations go in the hall. He sarcastically replies that he is so sorry to inconvenience me. Then he gets mad at me for getting on my phone to text the woman in charge of shelving to let her know that there are books to be put away. As he leaves he rolls his eyes at me and says "Don't worry I know the type" again sarcastically. I went out later to see what he left, a bunch of philosophy and psychology books that he may have read but obviously didn't get anything useful out of, thinking I know his type too.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Timelies all!
Listening to Cecilia Eng(the guest of honor) singing a song based on the game "Are You a Werewolf?"
sj, what a total douchenozzle.
I am not protesting today because we are packing for camp and there is SO MUCH LAUNDRY. But after today I don't have to do kid laundry again for three weeks! Woot!
I am impressed with anyone protesting in the NYC area today because it's close to 100 degrees and humid and awful. I hope everyone remembered sunscreen and lots of water!!
Oh yeah, Jess labled him perfectly: Douchenozzle. I'm sorry you had to deal with him.
I'm in total admiration of everybody who protested.
There's a protest here at 4:30, which means it'll be hot, but not as hot as in other parts of the country. If I can figure out a way to get there that doesn't involve driving in circles for hours looking for parking, I may go.
Although I also want to go see the Mr. Rogers documentary...
Zmayhem went a' protestin' this morning.
Another huge SF crowd on a very sunny day. Fortunately cute doggos galore to raise our spirits.
One preacher made the mistake of counter-protesting at JZ and he got a load of scripture barked back at him.
Then he got out his bullhorn and went Full Old White Asshole Sexist and told her go home to tend to her hearth.
That did not go over well at a protest march in San Francisco.
A ferocious roar of probably 300 people turned on him shouting him down.
I went on what I thought/hoped was a date but I think she just wants friends. Which is a bummer. I think I will bake this afternoon and then go to the soccer game.
Wish I'd been there to see it, Hec.
ugh - I heard an interview piece on NPR either yesterday or Thurs - they were talking about Abortion - some pieces were about how abortions in countries where it is illegal are virtually all medicine now, not surgical. I specifically remember her talking about the most useful device in countries where abortion is illegal is a cell phone so that women can find who has pills to induce a medical abortion. They also discussed how abortion rates do not go down when it is outlawed. How the vast majority of women in the US who have abortions do so for economic reasons.
if anyone knows what program this was -let me know.
and I posted it and found it. The World from yesterday.
Finally home from Texas. Longest week ever. Will my eye ever stop twitching? Probably not.
