I like mashed cauliflower if it's not runny. But really my One True Cauliflower is roasted, with olive oil and smoked paprika or turmeric. I could eat a whole dang head of cauliflower like that.
Hmm. Maybe I'll make some for dinner. FRIDAY NIGHT CAULIFLOWER WOOOOOO
I can eat a whole head of cauliflower just steamed. I like cauliflower.
This week has been a million years long and this weekend is full of stuff I gotta do. I'm going to happy hour.
Thank you for validating my cheese cake bars. I don't think there were any last year, so that should be OK.
Thank goodness my work day started trailing off at about 3:30. Because this week has been ridiculous and I only slept like 5 hours last night. I have a beer and am almost ready for bed.
I also have a complaint about protests around here: they always start at 11, and I don't understand how to manage my food for the day! At least this time I'll be with my mother and she's not going to want to stay a long time.
Timelies all!
Am at Concertino, after a loooong drive with some horrible traffic. (Connecticut, why is it always Connecticut?)
I know this has been their plan since inauguration night, and I hate it's succeeded with me, but I just... I'm worn out. I've got no more reserves of outrage and...just rage. I'm hoping this hiatus I'm trying to take will help top up my reserve tank, because I really really hate feeling both apathetic and impotent to withstand and work for change.
I saw someone post a thing on Facebook about when you are in a choir and you have to hold a note longer than any one person can sustain the note, everybody takes turns taking a little breath, the audience does not hear it. This is a perfect idea for resistence and advocacy work. No one can go at it hammer and tongs forever. But we can each do what we can, taking a little break when w have to - it isn't quitting. It isn't giving up.
Incidentally I have never considerered myself an activist, I'm a hobbit. But dammit, Saruman has come to the Shire and by Eru I will not be one of Sharky's men. I'm going to a rally tomorrow.
Homemade mashed cauliflower is better. It is basically heavy cream, butter, salt and pepper tool. I can't taste the cauliflower.
Oh, man, happy hour with my dance sisters was so fun! Now a recital. My friend isn't on for an hour, I probably didn't need that last pint...
I was absolutely planning to go to a protest tomorrow but in the last 5 hours I've been body slammed by a cold or something. Postnasal drip, scratchy throat, cough, sinuses filling up, and within the last hour or so chills (in my 83 degree home). Ugh.
Roast cauliflower with capers is nom! I'm not sure what the convenience of frozen mashed cauliflower is? Unless you have trouble chopping things, I guess?
Gud, I had seen the beginning of that film, but not the whole thing. That was fascinating.
