Yes. Men like sports. Men watch the action movie, they eat of the beef, and enjoy to look at the bosoms. A thousand years of avenging our wrongs and that's all you've learned?

Punishingly Intricate

Expressing my rage and frustration is the only way I'm making it through these days - and by a fucking thread.

Yes, this and, also you posting about your rage and fear allows me to easily say I hear you and I share your rage and fear, for whatever that is worth. Of course, it's on me then to try to figure out what I can actually do to turn my feelings into action in whatever way I'm able.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Our wings are not tired.

I'm not doing much on FB because it is still too upsetting, but I did take the time to put a whole bunch of people in my non-political group because I don't feel I should inflict my rage on people that never post that kind of stuff. The dog pictures can be shared with them. I know that means any political stuff is really preaching to the choir, but it has to be for now.

Yes, there are lots of other ways to make a difference. No right and wrong way. Although there was a wrong way to vote. That I stand by.

Maria, definitely time to disengage with some folks. You know what you do and can do and that's up to you. Me, I hardly ever post links to news or politics--I see all my friends posting the same articles and I comment and interact on those. But I don't generally feel like I need to add one more link--my friends are generally already seeing it?? And as you said, reality and calls and donations are more important than Facebook posts. :(

am assuming that it's Google Translate making my coworkers greeting to a customer whose first name is Jesus read "Hello Lord Jesus" but it is making me laug

That is amazing. Love it.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Had a mammogram this morning. They're supposed to call me with the results, since something wasn't working there. Had another PT session at noon, and now I'm watching Drunk History.

Do I bother to call my TX senators? I mean really? Cruz & Cornyn there not really here for my liberal wishes.

Thrive to spite them

I called Richard Burr on NC. It probably won't do anything but I had my say. Or I'm having my say I need to call agai.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I called my NC senators, and Burr and Tillis are not entirely aligned with my political viewpoint.

Actually, Burr is a great senator from a constituent response point of view. I've contacted him on many issues, and he's always responded saying a) he heard me, b) he'll be taking x action, and c) why he's chosen to do so. Frequently he (or his staffer, probably) will take the time to address specific things I've brought up in my emails. X action is usually the exact opposite of what I want, but I do generally feel like he (or his staffer, probably) has considered my point of view before choosing what he'll do. It's a lot like talking to my sister. She'll listen to me, but she's starting from very different premises than I am, so her conclusions are often very different from mine. (Although she can't stand Trump, and I'm reasonably sure she didn't vote for him.)

not your mom's socks.

Glamcookie, if my post in any way came off as flip, I didn't mean it to, and I'm sorry. I am terrified for so many friends and their families right now. Doing everything I can think of and adding more as I can.
