Thrive to spite them

It's my birthday and I feel icky. I ended up leaving work early but not before they offered me the full time position! I've been working full time hours so I'm really happy.

That's great, askye! Nice birthday present. I hope you are feeling good enough to enjoy the rest of your day.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I went for a run in the woods, and then to dog class, and now I have a pie in the oven. Actually, 3: one large and two mini peach-blueberry pies. I hate to waste extra crust and filling...

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I makes me a sad that my mom died before she could see our new house, which she was very excited about. BUT, my Aunt (my mom's older sister) is now visiting for the weekend! My cousin and her DH have moved a couple of hours away and my 91-year-old Aunt has been visiting her. They arrived Friday afternoon and we have been having a lovely time. My aunt is still very sharp and we took a tour of Detroit and environs today, which she loved. We have enjoyed talking about my mom with her--they were very close. Tonight, going out for Gus's Fried Chicken!

That's really lovely, Scrappy!

Congrats on official full time, askye!

Swam this morning under full sun for the first time this season. I think the sunscreen regime mostly worked. Might be a little darker but no burn. I'd prefer it to work better, but I'm already at the ridiculous overkill spf & sweat/swim/scrubbing proof, so...

Ran all the errands & then spent 2 hours putting in and sealing my ACs. Wasn't even hot or humid in the house & I got completely soaked & smelly. Almost dropped the awkward monster one twice.😬

Tomorrow, clean & weeding.

Our wings are not tired.

So pleased to hear you are having this time together, Scrappy.

Yay swimming! I did 60 laps (home pool length!) for an hour this morning before the sun was high enough to hit the pool. The water is getting so warm.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Went to the Pirate Fest with my bellydance troupe and my parents today. It was actually chilly, which is quite the change from past years. I was on a quest for some kind of sheath or scabbard or sword-carrying device but was unable to find any. Did mind the rum drinks, the turkey legs, and 3 kinds of ice cream, and dry much enjoyed the entertainment. Good day.

City pool is still chilly; it has no heaters & our tap water is icy. And it's really big. Later in the summer, if/when it starts getting warmer (depends on a lot of things) I'll switch to the dive tank, which is always on the cold side. Morning olds club hrs are 9-12 & there's no shade then. Except under the deck umbrellas they bring out for us. We also rate deck lounges; those go away for regular hours because just too many people (Also: sedate olds, just swimming laps, gossiping &hanging in the water. Not a big need for any enforcement.)

Coding and Sleeping

Sounds like my Father's day celebration will be spending the day working on my wife's business. Today I spent mostly cleaning the basement.
