I almost got donuts this morning! It must have been a subliminal National Donut Day impulse.
Ah well -- I think there will be other treats at a focus group I'm going to in a bit.
I did some work, checked in with my boss about it, and she said I didn't need to do it! So the half-job I've done already is actually a favor to the people who could have been doing it all along. This makes me feel good about myself rather than that I wasted my morning.
Timelies all!
Well, it's done. I was out for all of it. They found one polyp, so I'll have to go back in 5 years, not 10, but otherwise it went well.
Well done, Sheryl. I go for an appointment on Monday where they will set my appointment for my first one, and hopefully my last.
Sheryl, were you told that you needed someone keeping an eye on you for the rest of the day? Or just that you couldn't drive yourself home?
The active shooter training has been scheduled and it's only for an hour in the lunch room, so hopefully it won't be too big a deal.
I am completely burned out on this week, and actually feel great about how much I've gotten done, and yet I still have to be here for hours. I guess I can screw around until my 3:30 meeting and just leave after that. Or maybe I can get one or two more things done!
DO ALL THE THINGS.
Ugh.
I'm heading to the airport early because I'm being frugal and sharing a taxi with colleagues. Also because I'm exhausted and done with this week. I didn't get to do any sightseeing in DC, but at least I did go out for dinner with the team every night.
I hope the active shooter training stuff is worthwhile. If nothing else something in the back of the mind in case of incidents anywhere like the mall or sports event. Sucks beyond telling that we have to think about it at all.
Excitement today was having a visiting turtle. The dog was going berserk and when I looked he was strolling along the side of the pool. Took a picture and messaged my neighbor, and yep, it was his. He came and fetched him. His sister left his gate open and a couple escaped. In the past when people see his turtles in the neighborhood they try and move them to the lake, but they aren't an aquatic type.
I did tell you guys I put down my deposit on a Tesla? Probably looking at 6 months before I get it, but in the queue. I looked at the other electric varieties, but after reading many reviews I decided to go for it. Son & DIL working at Tesla doesn't hurt their rep with me either. Since they are in service they see the worst of it, but still have been pushing me to do it. Whee! Of course I'll be more excited when they tell me it is time to pick my options because it is being built.
