Joyce: You don't think it's too obvious? I think I look like I have a cat on my head. Buffy: But a very well groomed cat. Joyce: Well that's a comfort.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

But vacation!

Yay Tim's party!

meara, on further thought, I don't think it's the the mattress is too soft, but there's just something about it that's not quite working for me.

Our wings are not tired.

Wow, Pix. That is a month of adulting. My accomplishments yesterday were making a menu for T'day and doing some computer work. And the dishes. There was probably more, but inadequate for sure.

Smooth travels, sarameg! Enjoy the twins and the rest of the family and friends.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Bon voyage, sarameg! And yes, every time I type or think that phrase, it is in Bugs Bunny's voice .

I will not say, "Your discretion has earned you a cookie" and then post the "made you a cookie but I eated it" meme on Facebook. We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

I pulled a muscle in my back just reading that.
I may be a bit sore this morning. But organized (mostly) house is so happy-making!

I have to leave in a couple of hours to go pick Mom up. Going to try to grade a few more papers (have five to finish before tomorrow). Go team adulting!

Windsparrow, why won't you do that? I definitely think you should do that!

Yeah to successful party! You get an introvert gold star. (I always feel like I deserve one when I successfully do anything like that.)

Yay vacation, sarameg!

Flight connects thru phx. People my parents' age do not board well. And there are a lot of them.

The person I want to say it to told me, "Yes. I can see you are full of love," in response to me explaining that I was calling out her internalized misogyny not because other women are too weak to handle reading her words but because hate needs to be called out and love trumps hate. Adding heaps of snark won't fix what's wrong with her.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

My note to him: "I have adopted the word demagogue in your honor on Wordnik. You are the perfect embodiment of the word and I could think of no better way to honor you. A Proud American, R. Boston"

Love this SO MUCH.

Yay Tim's party, and happy birthday to Tim!

A good writer friend of mine started a romance reader book club, so last night I got to spend 2.5 hours in a coffee house talking about how the latest Tessa Dare book's humor and witty banter was balm for our spirits when we truly needed it (since for all of us, it was our first book read after the election), then dissecting aspects of plot and characterization that didn't work so well for us, with recurring digressions on politics, favorite tropes, food, Hamilton, musicals in general, rewatchable movies (there was general consensus that Dirty Dancing never gets old, and I was part of a small but vocal group advocating for Bull Durham), etc. Good times. I should try getting out of the house more often (said the introvert coming out of a year of depression that primarily manifested as a desire to curl up inside and avoid humanity as much as possible).

That does sound like a good time, Susan.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My note to him: "I have adopted the word demagogue in your honor on Wordnik. You are the perfect embodiment of the word and I could think of no better way to honor you. A Proud American, R. Boston"

This is a thing of beauty.

The person I want to say it to told me, "Yes. I can see you are full of love," in response to me explaining that I was calling out her internalized misogyny

What an ass.

You are Not Alone. I'm going to an early T'day dinner this evening at a friend's house and I Don't Wanna. Friend is becoming somewhat annoying, drinking too much, and other attendees are strangers to me, so I'm hoping to be able to cut out early. Or, you know, maybe it'll be fun. But I expect we'll just talk politics and rant all night.

That sounds Not Fun in ways that go beyond introversion! Fingers crossed it's more fun than expected.
