Ugh. Have three new employees on a project. One is so far really not impressing me. He has to fly somewhere and train people there. I gave him a heads up via creenshot, before he could access our internal systems, that there were four locations there—training only happens at one but he has to go to the other three also, briefly. He booked to leave the city at 4:20pm. I was like "do you think you'll have time to do the training AND go to the other locations?" And he said "well they're all in [city]". ...they are not. They're each 45 minutes to an hour from the main location , in different directions. Ugh. This man has been at the company almost 20 years. He ought to be on point.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

The phone arrangement makes more sense.

But the 10-key arrangement is what I have muscle memory for. Sense-making can't do much against that.

Ugh, meara

Our wings are not tired.

The number key muscle memory was hard wired during adding machine days so the phone messes me up.

smh at meara's cow-orker.

Civil war possibilities are too real on too many fronts.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

There are ants in our kitchen. I do not like this.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I accidentally left a drop of jam in the sink the other day, and it became Ant City in there. Luckily, a couple of ant traps and a couple of days of carefully cleaning everything ASAP, and it's much better.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Ants love to follow paths, and especially paths that lead to food that other ants found (they're helpful that way), so scrubbing near the walls does really help confuse them and encourage them to move on.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

With one hand, I am pointing at people and telling them, "I TOLD YOU THIS WOULD BE A PROBLEM SO DON'T EVEN LOOK AT ME RIGHT NOW." With the other hand, I'm pointing at other people and crying, "WHY ARE YOUR TABLES SO UNRELIABLE AND INACCURATE?!"

This could be a sign that I need some TUMS and a nap.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

When I worked at a customer service desk in high school, we had the following machines - food stamp machine with phone entry, cash register with 10 key, video dental computer with 10 key, main switchboard with phone entry, lotto machine with phone entry, bottle return with 10 key. It was so irritating.

I adulted and called chase to find out my account # ( after 5 years!) so I could pay off my car loan and cancel the autopay. And hey, the gamble that my car would survive a 5 yr, no interest loan paid off.

Now I should sink that payment into retirement or something. Next adulting.
