Well, I have been luxuriating in the uncomfortableness when confronting my relatives on their racist bullshit.

Our wings are not tired.

^^^ Yep!

Awesome weekend in Laura's world. Gathered with flea, Steph, and Hil in Cincinnati last night, which was a complete delight. Then this morning went to Commencement at Wilberforce in Ohio. I knew the school was an HBCU, but I didn't know it was the first! 162nd Commencement. Benjamin Crump was the speaker and he did a very good job. Lots of music with a big choir, and the graduates entered to bongo drums. My graduate was the only one to get a Computer Science degree. He said there were about 10 when he started. Then after we all went to lunch with my cousins that live in the area. These cousins were constant companions when we were kids and I don't see them enough. This is the fiercely liberal wing of my family so there was much political discussion.

So a whole weekend spent with people I love that I don't see often enough. Good stuff.

My plans to go on a road trip got canceled but I met a friend for brunch and then we worked on planners together cause she liked mine. Bought notebooks and markers and such.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

What a good weekend, Laura!

I just picked up the trombone for the first time in weeks, and somehow I have not gotten better without trying???

Calli, in your shoes I would be contacting people about murder alibis right about now.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

productive day so far.

feed kittens
go to work meeting
fill up car
come home feed kittens
get load of laundry out and drying
sweep kitchen and living room
get load of laundry in
go vote
drop off two bags at thrift store
fold half of laundry and put it away

and now I'm about to take mac and a friend to go see a community college 45 min away that has dorms.

oops I wrote all that out at noon and then did not post.

We did go to a community college 45 min away and drove around the about 10 building deserted campus and then around the town a bit. Mac seems hellbent on not even considering these options with dorms.

Then we drove back, got Ethiopian food
drove home, fed cats
I moved laundry to dryer
am listing a couple things on FB marketplace

and I think now, Tivo.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I had a not at all productive day. CincoK in the morning (on not very scenic roads, as it turned out, so that was not great, but the Sinaloan dancers before the race were cool), which came with tacos and a beer. The beer turned out to be Michelin Ultra, and now I know I don't care for that. Mom ended up with a 20% off coupon for the Budweiser gift shop, so we poked around and found some stuff to buy. Dad bought a skewer if teriyaki chicken that was both enormous and delicious, so we all nibbled on that. We then relocated to a deli that I've been wanting to try for ages but always seem to be near when it's closed - hella good. And now I know I can order online and pick up a to go order, so weekday meals there are more viable. Came home and collapsed. Have been lying down reading or surfing the internet all afternoon. So it goes.

Coding and Sleeping

I've done some vacuuming, some carpet shampooing, got everyone lunch, replaced some brake pads on my daughter's car, did an oil change, went to the grocery store, got yelled at for starting dinner so late, made eggs, bacon, and pancakes for everyone, unloaded and loaded the dishwasher. Now I get to settle down and work on encrypted UDP for work.

Edited because I didn't use the Oxford comma and felt very guilty about that fact.

Michelin Ultra

Ha

Sold a 4x6 soccer goal that has not been used in oh 5 years. It's been outside, so not great shape, but it's a big thing gone from my back patio and I have $5 for a week that I am cash poor.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I had a not at all productive day. CincoK in the morning

I'd argue that doing a 5K automatically makes your day productive.

I also did a 5K today -- the Flying Pig, which is super fun. It's a huge deal here, and they have events all weekend.

I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot but I was stubborn and did the 5K anyway, and now I'm paying for that. It may have been a poor choice to do it today. I'll have a better idea tomorrow. For now I'm just popping ibuprofen like they're M&Ms and icing my foot.

Because of the plantar fasciitis, I had no idea if I could finish in under an hour, but I squeaked in at 59 minutes, so I'm pretty proud of that.

Then I came home and was unable to nap, which is bullshit. So I read for a while, and then we had burgers for dinner because I really just wanted protein. That was a quality burger. And I seriously might go to bed soon, because I am old.
