we have a mandatory meeting tomorrow morning
Booooooo!!
yep, once a quarter. I have to plan it. We don't have a space big enough on site, so it's at a hotel and we get crappy hotel buffet breakfast with it. I hates it. Oh and over half the meeting will be about safety issues that do not pertain to office staff, but the two of us who do not supervise people and work in the office still have to be there. I added two things about processes that people keep not doing or messing up which creates more work for me, so I get to be a process bitch for part of it at least.
now I have the hiccups and I do NOT like.
Well, I can't help with the Saturday meeting, sorry, but I heard of a hiccup cure that's weird enough to share. Evidently, if you say "fish!" emphatically and drawn out (FIIIIIIIISSSSHHHHHHH!) it can help realign your diaphragm or whatever's out of whack with hiccups and stop them.
Yay, Scrappy! And what lucky kids to get you
And grrrr Calli
Ooh that's a new one, I will have to try next time I get hiccups!
Timelies all!
So it's been hot here the last few days, and our air conditioner hasn't been working well. We got the ac guy out here today, and found out the compressor's toast. We have to wait for a new one, which will take a few days. At least the temperatures will be a bit lower during that time.....
How much of a troll am I if my racist uncle mentioned he hadn't seen Black Panther yet, and I asked, "Why not? Too many black people in it?"
It ain't trolling when you confront racists about their racism...
Well, I have been luxuriating in the uncomfortableness when confronting my relatives on their racist bullshit.
^^^ Yep!
Awesome weekend in Laura's world. Gathered with flea, Steph, and Hil in Cincinnati last night, which was a complete delight. Then this morning went to Commencement at Wilberforce in Ohio. I knew the school was an HBCU, but I didn't know it was the first! 162nd Commencement. Benjamin Crump was the speaker and he did a very good job. Lots of music with a big choir, and the graduates entered to bongo drums. My graduate was the only one to get a Computer Science degree. He said there were about 10 when he started. Then after we all went to lunch with my cousins that live in the area. These cousins were constant companions when we were kids and I don't see them enough. This is the fiercely liberal wing of my family so there was much political discussion.
So a whole weekend spent with people I love that I don't see often enough. Good stuff.
