brillig

One fun difference with the British Antiques Roadshow is you get to see glorious 16th Century religious articles that are in the possession of retired priests. Old here is a lot more significant.

Ah, coffee.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm sorry, Suzi.

I hope Em enjoys the car, Gud! I have a 2008 Honda Fit. When I had it in for an oil change last weekend, the guy at the shop said I could expect it to keep running for another 10 years. They're resilient little cars.

I do like the British Antique Roadshow. Seeing the lovely locations they film in is also a plus.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Hugs, Suzi.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Started the day with PT before work, feel like I might be getting a cold (maybe it's allergies??), basically don't want to do shit. And I don't quite have enough meetings today to justify not doing anything else! Booooooooo.

What is even happening?

Hi Buffistas.

Sting and Shaggy promoted their new album on Live with Kelly & Ryan this morning. The song they sang, "Morning Is Coming," really left me feeling far more optimistic than I expected. Because of the reggae vibe, it also made me think of ita (and wonder if she'd like it). Now, here I am.

Suzi, here's hoping you feel better.

Mr. It-Was-White-And-Square-And-Looked-Like-A-Tooth turns 18 today. None of my children are children, now.

(Am currently marking the day by trying to make myself work and ignoring the non-parent who is mansplaining motherhood to me, on Twitter.)

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Cindy, I feel like I should congratulate both you and Tooth son for surviving until his 18th birthday.

Thanks, sj. I know it is such a cliche, but his childhood (all of their childhoods) went by in the wink of an eye.

How's LTC?

Stubborn, too smart, and adorable.

Our wings are not tired.

Congrats, Cindy. Always good to see you. My (duct tape) baby gets married in July so who knows, grandmotherhood may be in my future.

I'm super lazy today and have done the absolute minimum work. The day to come includes swimming, sushi on the front lawn with a friend, and then an overdue polish change. All of these much better than work.
