And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I had a fuckton of work to catch up on from yesterday, but I'm free to roam the interwebs now. Hello interwebs!

You are my hero, meara.

I have lots of inventory analysis to do and streaming Prince music, I may actually be pretty quiet for a while. Unless I need to burble about Prince. Or, I suppose, inventory. We'll see how it goes.

Can you sue Russia?

I feel like I have a heard an actual answer to this but I don't remember what it was. I mean, not specifically Russia, but general who you can sue in what court system and it kind of boils down to you can sue anyone but they don't have to care? Obviously I have very little idea what I am talking about.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The article I read said that generally you can't actually sue other countries' governments, but the argument in this case is that they trespassed on private property and have no protection.

Washington Post says:

Suing a foreign country may present legal challenges for the Democrats, in part because other nations have immunity from most U.S. lawsuits. The DNC's complaint argues Russia is not entitled to the protection because the hack constituted a trespass on the party's private property.

The lawsuit argues that Russia is not entitled to sovereign immunity in this case because "the DNC claims arise out of Russia's trespass on to the DNC's private servers . . . in order to steal trade secrets and commit economic espionage."

Welcome to 4/20...last couple of days have been kinda tense leading up to today. Last night there was a Vote for your Lives rally in a nearby park that included students from Parkland, survivors from the Aurora theater shooting, students from Arapahoe High School where a girl was killed a couple of years ago, and apparently a current student from Columbine. The park is right next to Columbine High School and the memorial to that tragic day 9 years ago today.

The Columbine families did not want the rally here, their way of remembering is to have 4/20 be a day of service to the community. The students don't have school but have service projects they have been preparing for. Other community members participate in these projects also.

Separately, CJ is expecting today to be a crazy day at work - armed security for a marijuana shop. I'm not involved in any of this but it still hits my heart.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I'm at work and forcing myself to catch up on some paperwork so that month end next week is not a nightmare.

I want to eat all the food and sleep all the sleep.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

On the radio this morning, they were talking about how current high school students haven't necessarily heard of Columbine, since it happened before they were born. Which just seems so crazy to me.

I started the day with stupid PT, then meetings, then lunch, next more meetings. I guess I could be getting work done, but there's the whole internet to catch up on!

Oh, shit. I totally forgot it was 4/20. My neighborhood is going to be overrun with people going to the Hippie Hill festival in Golden Gate Park.

I did miss a digit back there. It has been 19 years, not 9. It happened in 1999. Last century! Even though we didn't live out here then, it is a big part of local history and there is a lot of reverence given to the Columbine family and neighborhood. Then you add the Aurora shooting, which was the next town over, and it is impossible to miss the tragic history here.
