So, I was walking the cat near my car yesterday evening and saw something hanging from where my car's hubcap meets the tire. It turned out to be a mouse tail, attached to a very dead mouse inside my hubcap. I have no idea how it ended up in there, much less why it chose that place to die. It was very disconcerting.

Yikes.
I made it home last night after my trip to SD for my grandmother's funeral, which was a sad and nice visit, including seeing a cousin I haven't seen in years and years, who happened to already be there for brain surgery. Sometimes it's just too much.
That mouse is mysterious. I am a little amused that you found it while walking your cat - your cat didn't find it for you?
Oh, my, sad and nice and a lot, for sure.
I slapped some nail polish on for the performance on Saturday and it's already all chipping and looks terrible. I am torn between just tking it off and having my normal bare nails and trying to reapply. probably should not do either in my cubicle, though.

DOES NEWS GET ANY SHALLOWER?
At this point, probably.

Nah, he's only interested in them when they're still alive.
Yep, cats are definitely wired to like things that are moving.
Hmmm... I think I need to patent this idea I just had of a wind-up toy that you can put cat food in.
I'm pretty concerned about my nails as well -- I did a crappy job on them Thursday night and am not sure they will hold out til the end of the week. At least the color is light, so it won't be noticeable if they don't.
I want to do zero work. I also want to eat all the food. Alas I am at work and my car is at shop so I cannot leave.
I also want to do zero work! Alas.
