I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I am a little amused that you found it while walking your cat - your cat didn't find it for you?

Nah, he's only interested in them when they're still alive.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Yep, cats are definitely wired to like things that are moving.

Hmmm... I think I need to patent this idea I just had of a wind-up toy that you can put cat food in.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm pretty concerned about my nails as well -- I did a crappy job on them Thursday night and am not sure they will hold out til the end of the week. At least the color is light, so it won't be noticeable if they don't.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I want to do zero work. I also want to eat all the food. Alas I am at work and my car is at shop so I cannot leave.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I want to do zero work and I kind of have nothing I need to do. It's weird. But I guess I need to be here in case something comes up? Meh.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Remember how nice it was on LJ where you could turn comments off and on for a particular thread or post, even after it was underway?

Ooh, I bet I know what brought that on. Yeah, that does seem like a desirable feature, doesn't it?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

As always, let me know if you want me to shut up.

And honestly, the whole thing for me is tied into this weird experience I had yesterday, where I refrained from commenting on a high school classmate's post. He's close friends with people I'm close with, but we were never connected that closely.

He posted about an NYT oped (I think), written by a black man, working through feelings of "should I just give up on white people." And I was going to comment, my response being, "Since black people can't go into Starbucks or ask for directions, why not?", but it felt like kind of performative woke white woman charges into black people's social media space to show what a good ally she is.

Dana, nope, you're fine! (As is everyone who's jumping in with excellent points while also keeping it remarkably civil.)
